    Hi

I recently bought a used Maschine through Musicians Friend, installed all the software, but was not able to register it because the previous owner has not contacted NI to disown the product. This is a problem because I cannot contact the previous owner - does this mean it is impossible to use this? Is there a way around this?

    Cheers for any help guys

No, the previous owner must contact NI and deregister the product before you can register it.

i bought one used from GC recently..place a ticket in and it'll walk you thru on what items you need to clear your serial. mine was pretty seamless..placed the ticket on a Friday. response Monday. i responded back with the required materials Monday late afternoon.. they cleared the serial late Monday night.

    Hey

I emailed NI, who replied within 2 days asking for scans of the serial number, invoice and pictures of the product, which I sent to them. Within a day, they had replied saying that the activation had been reset for me to register under my name. I simply re-entered the serial number into the activation software and it worked. The maschine is now fully operable :D Cheers for the help guys

Go to "Support" (see the top of the page), then "Activation and Registration", click the appropriate link and email them telling them your problem. They should reply pretty quickly with a solution. At least, they did for me.

    Good luck man!

    Soon to be Problem

Can anybody offer me a little insight on a "soon to be problem" before It happens? Here is the scenario..... Im looking at purchasing a maschine from a used dealer(pawn shop) but there isnt an installation cd with the maschine. I can get the installation cd from elsewhere so thats not the real issue but, the maschine doesnt come with a serial number. Just the # on the sticker under the maschine. Is that all I need to get up and running?

No. You'll need an unregistered serial for the software, which you haven't got.

Where is the serial# displayed? Maybe I overlooked... the only number I seen was around 12 characters long and was underneath the maschine hardware. Made up of letters and numbers.
