    lucky german people

€350 plus a trip to Berlin could be quite pricey for me.

Will anything be happening in the UK?

    Hey Triss,
There's a good chance of it, but not before October/November.

If you come to the UK, you'll be swamped with people wanting a workshop, though it is a bit pricey for me to be honest. I need a new laptop first.

Yes, I know there's a great Reaktor community in the UK — some of the best builders and most imaginative users are there.

As for price, the workshop is actually a "mobile classroom", so everyone has there own optimized workstation... so you might not need a new laptop :)

A "webinar" would also be cool. Mathworks, LambdaResearch (TracePro), and Tecplot.com all do that for their professional software (for free) in addition to location-based training (for a fee).

In the first of his recent videos Tim Exile was talking about coming back to the UK and running some kind of workshops. However I note that, in the second video, he has just moved into another space in Berlin and run a workshop there so maybe he changed his plans.

@mmower: Yes, I've talked to Tim about this, too. I did a workshop with him at Time Warp a few years back where he showed his setup, which was not only awesome, but inspirational for all present.
@amarillo114: DVD productions are costly and take a lot of time, making it hard to stay up to date... NI has come out with only three so far (I wrote/presented two of them, the Kontakt and Absynth ones) and it DID take us a long time. Too long. I think the web is more the go-to place for this kind of information nowadays, because production cycles can be much shorter (like... 1 day!).
@Gribs: yes, I think a webinar might work for many people and I'm seriously thinking about getting something like this together.
BUT: the first big brain audio workshop just happened this past weekend and it was an AMAZING group. Getting 12 people together, talking passionately about OSC, surround, new controller concepts, sound design for film AND the Iterator :) was something that would be hard to experience on the web. Especially the pizza and the beer.
I am not dogmatic, however. I think there is a place for all of this, from the short YouTube vid, to the downloadable QT file, to the Webinar, to the Hands-on/be-there workshop like we just had here in Berlin and will be repeating in two weeks.
