I have recently purchased a MacBook (Intel and Leopard) in addition to my iMac and wondered if my Bandstand licence allowed for a 2nd installation.

Most other products do: Adobe CS3, Digital Performer, Sibelius, to name just a few.

I've had a look through all the read me files and manuals, but I see no reference as to how you might go about setting up a second registration for the laptop.

    Anyone know if it's possible?

    Thanks anyone.

Oh: and it still doesn't open Midi files in the suggested way, but at least you can open the file by clicking on the file icon and ask it to: "Open With…" > Bandstand

That'll be fine, though not perfect.

Cheers – and a very merry Christmas to you all.

Of course you have 2 installations Karl. Go to the support page, choose my NI account, give in your loginname and password, choose 'my registered product and serial numbers and you will see all your registrations. at the top of that page, you will read:

This page lists all registered serial numbers of your user account.

Note: The de-activation option has been removed from this page due to optimizations in our activation system which make this option unnecessary for the time being. Please note that still a maximum of two parallel installations is allowed. Please refer to the terms of use for further details.

    Thanks Luc,

    That worked ... kinda.

Bandstand 1.03 has installed on my laptop and works fine as a plug-in with Digital Performer: but it will not open as a standalone! It keeps saying the "application has unexpectedly quit" after showing the startup dialogue.

I've done all the usual: reboot, repair permissions.

Any ideas? Can I re-install? And if so, should I de-install first?

    :-(

I don't seem to be very lucky with Bandstand.

Just to tidy off this thread, Jarmo Hynninen in another thread came up with this solution to the "unexpected quit" on the MacBook

Many thanks to Luc for sorting out the second registration request and to Jarmo for the solution to the quitting problem.

All seems to be working now ... at last!

    :)

Karl, I still work on Pc, not on Mac.
I'm happy to have been able to help you. Have a nice ending of the year and a happy 2008 over there at the other side of the world, I suppose in the middle of summer.
    Kind regards

    :)

Yes, it's mid-summer here in Oz, but right now were having gale-force winds as a cyclone develops off the coast.

    But the weather is warm!

And a very happy New Year to everyone: may you all have a pleasant 2008 with Bandstand!
