hi! I'm a young DJ. It may sound cheesy for some people, but I am simply playing, for the time being, mostly popular and charts music and need the basics of basics, that is CLASSIC DJ PARTY DROPS, SAMPLES and SOUND EFFECTS to entertain & stimulate the crowd to party and dance (like horns, sirens, vocal announcements, -serious/professional or with humour- etc).

I can't find anything (or of poor amateur quality) on the biggest DJ music downloads websites (beatport, loopmaster.com etc).

Could you please help me and let me know the places/websites where I could find them? Thanks a lot! take care,

    Beatrice, u.k.

Thanks dear Kallekenkel, but if you don't like that kind of music, please spare us some unuseful, judgmental and sarcastic comments if you have better things to do, do not join this thread and respect other djs work (as per the 'terms' of this 'professional' N.I. forum) and the fact that there are different publics and music styles to service, no need to reply, thank you and all the best! :D

Thanks Dj main, that's very kind of you, I will have a look. I think the famous horns/sirens drop I'm after is of ragga style (amongst other samples i'm looking for), take care, Beatrice

    have checked out

    www.soundstosample.com

Owned by Beatport, it's more for producers loops etc, but there's lot of one shot samples.

I'd say check out anything that says early rave etc which were big on horns

Thank you Dj main, Mixaloop is the best site and I found the siren I was looking for.
It's the only site where I founds loads of precisely the type of Party drops I was after, thumbs up to you! if i can help you too, I will! :)

Thank you, I did try but found nothing related to party vibe samples.
Truth is I didn't know exactly which key words were best related so i'll try again with what you suggested, thanks a lot!

each to his own, right? ;)

@beatrice: in these ancient times when we were using vinyl, one was used to find such things on so-called "battle records". there are many, many out there - not sure if they made it all in the digital world or if they are still only available as vinyls.

Sorry guys, I just came from a party the weekend before I posted the comment.. in a club which I previously considered "OK" for my taste and which has turned into one of those commercial Guetta clubs.. Will try to keep my emotional posts (which occur very rarely, if I may add) to myself.

I once saw a DJ who had an actual horn.. That was cool.

Thanks a lot. I am aware it could become cheesy if not used well, but if we use them smartly and in moderation to the right crowd who doesn't take itself too seriously and wants to have a laugh and behave a bit silly it should be fine. For e.g, it could be very appropriate for kids mini discos or a birthday/wedding party. There are all sorts of Djs, needs and markets in this world. All the best to everyone, i think we could close this thread now as I've got all that I need, thanks again!
