So i have seen a couple of reactor patches being sold on the big wide interweb. How do you go about selling our stuff (just curious)?
I can see that you can lock your ensembles, but do you have to use your own gui elements in order to sell your stuff? Or can you literally take any ensemble and reuse its guy elements in your ensemble and sell it? What about if you use stuff from around here or the stock reactor guy - any problems in doing that (other than not being very original;)

    Thanks

first off, only NI can lock down code.

no, you cannot sell any work by other people. the only thing you should feel free to use are the default knob/slider/button/etc graphics. anything else you'll either need to design yourself or get somebody else to do it for you.

Thanks. So say i make an ensemble from whatever modules i like and redesign them/tweak them and make up some by myself, make a custom GUI, put them together in a way that i think people will like and want to sell it (basically put a lot of effort into it). I have to contact NI to lock the ensemble? What is the actual process for selling/locking an ensemble? What about making an ensemble that will be usable in reaktor player? (my understanding is that, that is not possible by default).
    Thanks:)

frankly, unless you are sonictwist (twisted tools), i'm not sure that commercial reaktor ensembles are a very efficient way to make money. remember you are competing against the entirely free user library, so you want to have something that compares favorably to the best stuff in there.

further, i haven't tried but i don't think NI will lock your work for you. i guess it couldn't hurt to ask them, but i doubt it. same for reaktor player.

only the official NI products (razor, monark, molekular) run in reaktor player. bassic, twisted tools, whoosh, and the rest, need a full copy.

Agreed - short answer is you'd better be a real Reaktor ninja if you're going to ask people to pay for your stuff over the amazing free/donationware that's out there.

@JAMCPH, it would be a good idea if you built up a reputation by uploading free stuff into the User Library before you even think about trying to sell stuff.

you would also need to think about doing YouTube tutorials.

i am ure NI would not consider locking your stuff unless they thought it was really fantastic - and it would help if you were a famous artist/producer.
