C'mon @delboywilson woke up and voted just before the deadline...It's gonna be like that every 30th of the month ???
This guy doesn't even exist, same thing for @Stevox ...Sorry guyz, that was my last battle, I'm done.

 

...I haven't watched or participated in earlier contests, but I can't say this whole thing has turnt out satisfying. Obviously you can't force people into participating in the voting and that's fine (perhaps maybe some drawing for a maschine expansion among the voters would help, I don't know), but I think I definitely have one or two thoughts about the entry rules.

(btw. if anybody is interested in the project file, pm me - I'd really like the thought of a working community)

 

if he is only gonna get votes from the 4 people that only vote for him and exist only when it's battle time then there is no point.

when I checked last night, at around midnight, there were three entries with three votes each, @slyte no 1, @Huboi no 1 and @dick_bagel no 3.
Because we take Berlin time these three are our winners for this month. Congratulations. The runner up is @loachm with two votes, congratulations to you too. Please send over the project files for confirmation and name the prize that you want to receive.

I understand your frustration and I agree that votes from 'ghosts' who only have accounts for this battle does not make any sense (if that is truly the case). The previously added rule of only being eligible to vote when your account was created before the battle apparently is not enough and we have to find an alternative.

This would result in even less votes. Participation in the voting was very low this time already, so I would prefer to keep the voting open one way or another.

Drawing a maschine expansion could increase voting participation, I will discuss this with Keir. Please do share any other thoughts on how we could improve this battle (going out to everyone). This competition is for you and if you are not happy with it there is no point.

Overall, I really liked the music you made for this month's battle and I am a bit disappointed that so few people participated in voting.

Thanks again to everyone who participated. We will review the competition and get back to you sometime next week.

Hey mate, I certainly do exist. I'm a musician and sound designer with a public profile on many platforms and 2 albums on iTunes et al... I also have Komplete, hence my presence on the forums. I voted in the early evening last night, Eastern USA time. I had voted a day earlier actually but the login system is not obvious on this forum and I wasn't logged in so all I saw was the Soundcloud heart and clicked them instead. Sorry if you are frustrated by fake accounts but I'm not one of them. Cheers and all the best mate.

@slyte don't be so negative. If you look at the NI playlist then you observe that first 5 participants including your first entry just skim the cream. You received about 500 plays on soundcloud. What could be better? Congratulations to everybody. @Jonas @ NI , may be it's a good idea to make competition once per 2 or 3 months? Else this battle become a marathon. I don't know why other people doesn't participate for example Nautica.from first battle. And they even don't vote. So pity. I think that placing a playlist on NI account was a great idea. Thanks to you.

 

Like @dick_bagel said last month : it's not about winning or losing, it is about integrity.

 

I don't know how it was for you guys. But after all this battle together with some another competitions this year becomes for me a push to start making music and not to seat and stare at walls thinking how to put harmony over beat. I had about 6 months break on this forum before so I could never know about Battle. So may be @Jonas @ NI you'd better start to send an email to Maschine or Maschine&Komplete users to submit next time? Voting also can be done on main NI site. Just compare how Korg Japan do. I am not a big fan of Korg and never used their stuff except keyboard but googling music competition or music contest always refer to their site with music examples and possibility to submit.

 

And finally voting can be done with Facebook account. Or even open for all visitors on NI Facebook account. What do you think? You only need to prepare some player for facebook for that.
