    Hi NI

I'd like to see a "sequence in host mode" for Maschine. What I mean by this is that instead of sequencing my Patterns/Scenes in Maschine, I'd rather record into Pro Tools or Logic so I only have to edit the structure of my song and do alternative versions in one place rather than editing in Maschine AND Pro Tools. In effect I'd be using Maschine as a sound module and MIDI controller. Like my keyboard controller, I'd effectively be setting Maschine to a "local control off" mode.

So..... I'd have all my drums loaded into Maschine but record from the pads onto a Pro Tools track.

    Hope that made sense.

Sowari suggested a workaround in this thread:
    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1197123#post1197123 .....

This works fine except I'm constantly having to switch between Control and MIDI mode.

I think this is more of an issue with your DAW and plug-in format rather than Maschine itself...

When instantiated as a VST within Sonar, you can enable midi out for Maschine and by using a virtual midi device as a redirect you can do exactly the function you describe.... use Maschine as a controller and a sound module with sequences/patterns captured in the DAW (without hopping into controller mode)

For anyone interested, you do this by
    a) instantiate Maschine with midi out
    b) insert an additional midi track with maschine midi out as its track input and a virtual midi pipe as its output.
    c) set Maschine midi input track to have omni or the virtual midi pipe as its source input.
