any suggestions on how i would go about putting a knob on the ui to control the speed of the sequence playback. im using the sequencer from the classic macros. not sure if i need to hook it up to the clock or the table. thanks

Not sure which sequencer you are refering to but you need to find the clock. If there is no clock but only imput from midi clock you need to replace that with an internal clock. Many sequencers have both optional.... look how it's done and copy.

in the same folder is a macro called Global Clock.mdl. hook the output - Pos - to the Pos input of the Sequencer. A Step Length of 16 and a Mult value of 1 and the 1/3 button off, should give the classic 16 step speed.

btw, what is the exact name of the sequencer that you are experimenting with?

im using the modulation sequencer from the classic macros folder. i started using this as i know nothing about converting values to what a macros input need it to be, scaling i think its called. i have a included a copy of an ens im working on. as you can see i have a global clock, and i understand how to get the classic 16 step, i want it to be like 8 or 4 or mabey even be able to set the sequence length, ie 4, 8, or 12 bars. upon a little more tinkering a better way to put it would be, i want to control the white bar, speed/pos. it seems to my ears to be the read postion of some kind. is this too much work? i can frakenstien/lego things, but want to really make some specific tools to upload to the ul and work with. i have included a zip of the ens for review. also on a secondary note, thanks for the quick reply sowari and zootook, are ens like the one i am working on for what 3 or 4 hours now, worth uploading to the ul. note i will take this as personal opinion not official word or anything. they seem redundant, thanks in advance.

ok, for me the classic macro sequencers and clocks are really complex because of their built-in flexibility... i actually suggest not using them.

so, i am uploading my version (with a little help of other Reaktor builders) of the Mod Sequencer.

Use the Tempo List to change the speed of the sequencer in relation to the Reaktor clock - 1/16, is the normal tempo.

Use the Length knob (shown just with its label and value) to change the Length. the maximum length is 256 which is 16 bars. NB, when you change the length you will notice the sequencer shrink or expand.

btw, you don't have to have 1 Global clock, you can use as many as you wish. that means it is easy to have a number of sequencers with different lengths and speeds.

i also include some pics to show the changes i made to the event table. which included changing the X size from 16 to 256. i also needed to uncheck the Auto fit parameters. please ask further questions for clarification.

btw, your Ensemble sounds good

Very nice seq, but it have a bug. And i dont know how to fix them ( I see this bug in many table SQ... Bug is - snapshot dont catch patterns in this kind SQ. Make few snapshots with different patterns and you will see it ((((((
Dear Sowari, can you fix this bug, because i broke my brains on this question(((( thanx)

ah ! Clist's EL DESTRUCTO work good with patterns)

Sowari thanks for the help, and the mod seq mdl I appreciate it. It is what i had in mind as far as length goes. Thanks for teaching me that. The sequence parameter is a little strange though, i think. anyway uploaded the synth to the UL. Wiegand's Wonder (as all the macros except your mod seq are by him) hope you enjoy.

in my previous version it was difficult to change patterns

i have uploading a better version, with some snaps to demonstrate.

use the Sequence knob to choose a different Pattern. NB!, remember if you draw on a pattern you will write over what was their before, so append the snap choose a new Sequence, draw in your pattern and then overwrite the snapshot.

so to clarify, you use the Sequence knob to change the patterns. you use the snapshot to store and recall which sequence/pattern is being used for that snapshot.

    does that make sense?

    yes, sorry about that

please download and use my updated version (in my previous post) where i have made the small knobs visible (not just name and value). with this version you will be able to change the sequences/patterns.

btw, here is a quick fix to make the Sequence knob less sticky. you just need to change a couple of this in properties to change Mouse Resolution and change the view from horizontal fader to knob.
