Serato DJ Pro doesn’t really offer and amazing new features. just better at what it was doing.

Yep I saw they have "practice mode" basically stand alone mode that Traktor has had for years without the ability to MIDI map most of the controls like Traktor. What is nice is the fact that Serato DJ Pro support Hi DPI displays. I honestly wasn't so much impressed with Serato DJ Pro as much as I am disappointed in Traktor.

I agree the 2.0 is not a big update.. But that's not the point. All the major players in the industry are releasing new version of the software, besides NI of course. I just want to know if something is coming or not..

Fairly uninspiring given the Pro tag.

its been rebuilt from the ground up, but looks the same. Its now 64bit and does stuff better. We can look forward to more silence and guessing on here but then again we did get colours so what are you moaning about?

I still hope NI come back to their senses and speak up about the future of DJing. I love Traktor and I don't want to let go but I'm slowly starting to accept the reality that we might not see TP3 in the foreseeable future. Anyway.. I just bought rekordbuddy 2.0. I will try to import my Traktor collection in Rekordbox and see how it goes.. The only thing I can't stand are those hideous stacked Waveforms((((

Can't remember when I used Traktor the last time. Something around October, I guess.
My S8 got packed and stacked, not using it anymore.

Then there is Serato. Now in 2 point O. They didn't expect a dime, same license I bought last year.
Sure, both applications do separate things. But why I lost my enthusiasm for Traktor?
Maybe they took too long to integrate Ableton Link. Maybe they screwed up TDJ too hard, or could not fix the energy saving fu..up since macOS 10.10...
Maybe I lost interest in "being a DJ"...

Anyway, the release of serato v2 makes hope for a new Traktor Pro 3 - again.

Same. I’m just about the production aspect as of now but I’ll go with a stand-alone controller if I decide to go back

What makes you said that? NI clearly doesn't care about the competition more frequent updates..

There is a German proverb, „hope dies at last“...

Ok, maybe I should get rid of Traktor and my S8 - been too long I’ve used it.
    This Roland DJ-505 looks promising.

Traktor development is slow and full of odd design choices, but that doesn't make this Serato "major" release any more exciting.

maybe Traktor SuperPro will have flexible beat grids, cue sequencing, SoundSwitch integration, and pitch cues. that way it’ll have all the features of Serato and it won’t matter which platform you use.

Like I said I agree with you. Not definitely an exciting 2.0 update. On the other hand, Traktor development it isn't slow.. It's more like dead. If you think about it.. When was the last decent update(2.11)? 1,5 year ago?

The last hope is the 59 Milion investment. NI will need to make some key hiring for Traktor and start with a blank slate. Time will tell I guess..

I switched from serato to Traktor about 5 years ago and although things have been quiet on the Traktor development side I think the implementation of remix decks and stems have been almost revolutionary and way ahead of the other options. I've often thought they probably launched those ideas a few years too early and now they have a working relationship with audionamix I think there is a possibility that stems could very well be on the verge of exploding into life now the technology has caught up and giving all the other players a bit of a headache going forward. ...........having said all that I may be wrong but I live in hope.

Maschine 2.0 had a complete rebuild. Best move, ever.

Why not do this on Traktor Pro 3? Don’t mind to spend (like on Maschine 2.0) money on that, if the update is worth it...

Buuuut NI wounld not be NI if they would speek to their loyal but angry customers (yeah, some of the loyals wanderd off, duh).

Anyway. It is the last day of February, NI released a new expansion pack.
    Surprise.

They Lost me long time ago with no Video support, etc, But anyway the only reason I'm holding on because of the Stems, but that's weakening fast. I've probably out gowned Traktor Pro.... I'm not going to lie I got Serato Pro and MixinKey -Flow 8 and Traktor Pro is 3rd on the list for me What did it for me was the DJ controllers. I got the NSF7III got the Roland DJ 808 and getting the Rane - [-Seventy -Two-Twelve}.....set up. Far as Traktor DJ I have a S4MKII Kontroller more like a Toy Now lol and S8 I wanted one No Lie but might get now one or two D2- Kontroller or the S5 Maybe ? I can't say but I'm very Ify with NI Hard to be a Loyal Customer to a Company that don't care about you. I've been Loyal since 2002.....and turned over 50 plus dj's to Traktor Pro Lost them to Serato Mostly and Virtual DJ that toy ass software. the future of Music is NI other stuff not the DJ Part .

I'm still on 2 6.8 and I honestly wouldn't miss anything that's been added since 1.2.7, which was the first version I owned.

No company is going to invest that sort of money in a market that has pretty much been monopolised by Pioneer. There will be a business plan for that investment. Traktor won't be part of it.
