I want to be able to swap between a sample deck, and back to a track deck with one button.

While keeping same song I had loaded, at the same part in the song.

Scratch Banks in Serato are very very useful, especially for us scratch DJs with 2-channel (Kontrol Z2) mixers.

Traktor already has the Remix decks! We can save 64 samples across 4 banks easily. We already have the best post-fader FX in the industry!

What we CAN'T do is easily transition between a remix deck and track deck. I should be able to do this with one button.

It would allow me to throw in some scratches, and IMMEDIATELY get back to my mix without having to faff about re-loading the track, and getting back to that mixpoint in the track.

    Please NI, this is huge.

Also, when on this "scratch bank" mode, it should flip all existing FX banks for that channel into scratch-friendly ones, with one-knob functionality. Tape delay, echoes, reverb. etc.

Can I get the responses from some scratch DJs in here???

Or have they all just moved to Serato... :(

    Are you sure about that?

I’m pretty sure this can be done by midi mapping and audio routing

You should try the F1! If you regularly use the Remix Decks, it is all you need. If you use decks 3 and 4 primarily for samples I would suggest getting 2 controllers for them. Using one can be tricky with faders/knobs and volume jumps.

+1 for DJ Slick. Yes having the F1 helps but it would be nice if you could swap deck A (Track deck) and deck (Remix deck) C on the fly. Then you can cut it up with some samples loaded in your remix deck and switch back to the track once you are done.

This could be done already. There’s even a video that shows this from at least 9 years ago when sample decks were first introduced.

He could’ve mapped it better to make the change more slick though.

Yes I tried something similar but it's quite complicated and I experienced much latency when switching decks from scratch control to internal mode via midi mapping.

I remember making a mapping to this on my foot switch. I also mapped delay fx to it. It was fun. I don’t think it was that complicated and I also remember different users had a different take on how to do it and did it to they’re liking. Actually now that I’m remembering some blasts from the pasts I recall mapping the loop recorder to capture my voice and send it to the sample deck to scratch it.

There was a Traktor update that broke a lot of people’s custom mapping including the one I made to switch tc to the sample deck and the one I made for the dns1200. I think it was when sample decks changed to remix decks I can’t remember.

I found now that it was better for me just map the third deck as a track deck and playlist shortcut to do it.

Oh I see. Not just for hitting a sample. The intent is to scratch it. That makes sense. Swap the Control. Maybe a duplicate deck mapping?
Would switch the playing deck you wanted back. To empty deck C.
And the Remix deck to B.
Then juggled back from C To B?

Sorry just a suggestion, it might be a bit funky.
Maybe map it to the keyboard. I have a Bluetooth keyboard with stuff mapped. Works very quickly.

Maybe map the swaps to the arrow keys.
Up would be D to B and B to C (on invert when the key is let loose)
Down would be C to B only.

    Or whatever combo works best?

I’m thinking that one would need the f1 controller to take full advantage of scratching whatever track or sample someone wants to use in the remix deck.

All one would have to do is set the audio routing as shown on the video and then make a modifier switch for changing where the timecode will be used.

I’m guessing no more than 12 commands are needed to build the macro.
