Serial for 1.5?

I have had 1.0 since it was first released.
I downloaded the 1.5 update, and things do not work as I don't seem to have a valid serial number.
So question 1 is - Was 1.5 a free update, and if so how do I get a serial number?

Version 1.whatever seems to still function though, but the instruments list appears different from what I remember.
So Question 2 is - has the library changed?
Right now, I seem to have just 4 basic instruments, and 4 FX versions.
I cannot find all the variations I am certain used to be there.
How do I get these back - do I need to do a complete reinstallation, or is this not necessary.

I'm guessing you registered it way before the cutoff date (Sept. 12, 2006). So in your case, no; it's not a free update.

I seem to have a serial number in the Service Centre though.
As pointed out, trying to DL did not work - but I requested a new one - and bingo!

PS.

Do I simply install over the top of the 1.1 version, or should I uninstall & reinstall?

 

Just install; it'll install to a different folder. The 1.1 library's needed by the new version.
