So I've owned NI Komplete 6 for a bit over a year (it was given to me as a gift on my birthday) but I've never really gotten around to installing it on a computer because I didn't own one of my own. I've recently moved in with my partner and, in the process of packing, found the $900 package in the back of a cupboard and decided to install it on his computer. However, after installing all of the discs and everything working fine, we've discovered that where the serial number is meant to be has been rubbed away or printed incorrectly, and large sections of the number are completely unreadable.

I've sent a couple of emails to registration support but have received no word back, not even a confirmation email despite being sure to enter the email address carefully. I hate seeing this expensive package going to waste and would like to know where I'd get a working serial from (I've searched through everything that was in the box including the manuals etc. but to no avail). I included more pictures than the one attached in the email to the registration support team, including time-stamped pictures of the entire package to prove I do own it.

I just purchased a copy of "Komplete 6" from Amazon and noticed that after handling the DVD box during installation the serial number began to smudge; the last number of the serial is completely gone after the first day. I put a piece of clear tape over the number in order to save the rest and copied the serial number beneath it as well.

I know the tape thing doesn't help you but maybe it will help someone else.

If I were in your position, however, I would contact NI by letter. Since you have all the original packaging in brand new condition I would offer to ship it to them so they can inspect it and determine for themselves that you indeed own the product and can see for themselves the defective printing. I cannot imagine any reputable company not agreeing to replacing a piece of software under these conditions. It would be unforgivable.
