    Hello there Natives and All

Using Guitar Rig is quite serious for me as I´ve been using it for many years now - on all of my Live Gigs as well as
in the Studio. Especially for the live purpose I rely on having updated versions as well as the information if this
thing is going on at all. I mean, in case you (Native Instruments) already decided that you won´t continue Guitar Rig
then just let people know, so one can check out how to move on without it!
I would realy love to use Guitar Rig in the future, but only with updated Versions. It would be a lot of work for me
to change to some other amp modeling device, but at least I could go to work now.
So - i don´t realy understand why you don´t come up with some news.
This way you just **** up with your coustomers.
    Get serious guys.

    Greetings Alex

If they decided not to work on it anymore they would have already release a statement of discontinuation by now.

Some stuff can take a lot of time though, sometimes. Like when they didn't update Reaktor 5 in a long while, then out of a sudden they came out with 5.5. Wow!

Same thing seems to be happening with GR now.

Personally, I find almost all other ampsims sound much better that GR for actual guitar sound. Everything is better - dynamics, picking response, lack of fizz, width and "3D"-ness of sound... GR is excellent for creative and never before heard effects, though - and I still use it exactly for that. But for actual guitar sound... there are other way better options, IMHO.

One of the main reasons why I would still like to use GR is because I´ve got lots of presets in my Live-Sets. Many subtile differences in the tweakings and layered effects.
I´m not sure if there are ampsims out there with which I could replace GR and make them sound as close as possible.

You can always use GR for effects, but as far as main ampsims go... there are a lot of choices out there that sound not the same, but MUCH BETTER.

Add another vote for at least getting a general statement of direction from NI for the future of GR. Just like the OP, I have a dedicated laptop, interface, midi pedal board and a Bose PS1 for live work. Many years ago I gave up on my amp/pedal hoarding and went software only. Mr. Moderator is correct in that the amp sims in GR aren't the best out there, but GR was and still is the best for streamlined "workflow" in building and performing. I found with the addition of Reflektor and the Rosen Digital IR cabs, the tone was much improved and has kept me going...but still in GR5. I think OP and I would be perfectly happy if NI would just post a 5 minute YT video or even a quick forum post to give us a thumbs up/thumbs down it would help immensely. I have both Amplitube 3 and TH2, but the workflow in those is not as intuitive, although the sounds are (in most cases) superior. Amplitube and that damned Custom Shop will drive me to washing dishes at the local Waffle House just to build up my stable to what I have now (and need) in GR. If I need to jump, I'd like to start figuring out which direction to go. Windows 10 will be out soon (no, I don't mac) and 8.1 has been fine for live work, but fear is a powerful motivator. Any information would be much appreciated!!!!

EvilDragon, what other ampsims would you suggest?

I have a lot of GR5 presets for both guitar and bass used in a live rig with 3 FCB1010s, running into tube power ams (so no cab emulations in GR), and that helps with tone a lot, but i do notice, particularly for heavier sounds, that weird "fizz" as you call it.

Could you recommend anything that has a diverse range of effects, and is capable of realistic clean, crunch and higain tones, and will play nice with MIDI patch changes and paramater modulation? And is as generally stable and reasonable on CPU as GR5?
