Seriously dissaponted with my new S61 Mk2

I would like somebody explain to me why I purchaed a product that some of the hardware buttons are not useful at all .
buttons Trak , session , keys, etc as well the up buttons, can not use if not is with DAW MASCHINE that not is included in the software of the bundle Komplete 11 Select, With Ableto Live....(no develeped the use) and I dont kow if anotehr daw(s) has realy intergration.

On adversiting videos that come to me for long time like a hummer can see ver nice how use the sreens and buttons for control the daw.
But this is not true y you dont purchase another device like Maschine Mk3 (device that m not itnerested) and then my keyboard (expensive compared with anothers simplest in the market like S61 normal) have some ahrdare functions that I will never use.

Nice! spent money only for lignts and buttons let me be really dissapointed. Im wrong_????????

 

DAWs with integration currently are Maschine, Live, Logic, Cubase and Nuendo.

 

No, sorry , live is not integrated to use the buttons and see the tracks etc...only you can use the mixer view
Logic is apple a Im work with pc
and I dotnt have Cubase, means I should spend money in a 3th Soft to let works the hardware alrerady purchased? And also without know if is totally integrated?

Yeah you can only see tracks when using keyboard with Maschine. They didn't show any other DAW with this level of integration in marketing materials (seeing DAW's tracks on keyboard's displays), so not sure where you got the idea that it would be possible with any DAW. It's not because they can only control communication between their own DAW and their own hardware. For other DAWs, they don't have such control over graphical elements, since they are not the ones developing those DAWs. They can just use existing remote control protocols like Mackie, or if DAW offers an API, they can use that. But verbatim copying how tracks look, nope, that ain't happening.

Sure you can use them, but in a different way. They can offer the best possible integration with their own software. Any other DAW would be a compromise in one way or another - this is a perfectly normal thing.


I'm not sure why you expected exactly the same level of integration with all DAWs when what they showed in promo materials was only done with NI's own software... This is purely a misunderstanding on your part.

 

loking the adversiting videos nobody say taht you must purchase maschine if you want control the daw from Komplete Kontrol, as well no body say that live ca not use this function but say that is integrated.

and I buy this product thinkng in this advantages coparing with an other controllers in market, finally buy and spend more money for that that didnt come. and the hardware is there, really I cant understand. I feel cheated.

 

You were cheated by your own misunderstood expectations, unfortunately. You could've read the manuals before purchasing, at least.

 

this is something like...you want to use this buons that come in your keyboard? ok buy MAschine mk3 , duplicate your hardware in another unuseful for you because Im not a DJ!!
Insist MASCHINE IS A DAW can be used for producion must be included with the keyboards sereis S MK2 at least if not is a cheating.

More , the komplete kontrol S Mk2 adertising videos are clearly misleading advertising and I Know what I say.

read the manuals_ who read the mauals until pruchase? also this thing do not appear in the manual, ofcoruse !

I spent 800 bucks and there is a software that open the use of my keyboard but is not included buta also I can not buy it !
I may buy another device !!!

Yes the problem is that Maschine do not sale alone only come with the device.because is duplicate for me.

Nobody expect in my side total integrarion with DAWs like Maschine , just I dont know if anyone threre is really totally integrated because I dont have all the softwares.
But I know that NI has Maschine and I know that the Komplete Kontrol hardware match perfect with Maschine software.
But dont come included, and also can not purchase it alone.
ust purchase Maschine Mk3 to access to this software.
MAschine Mk3 is a duplicate hardware in my case. and not useful.

Manufacture and sale a hardware like komplete kontrol and not include the soft to use it , forcing ot you to pruchase another devicel ñole Maschine Mk3. How I should understand?

 

It would be good if KK users could purchase Maschine software at a preferential price.

 

if NI manufacture a hardware to use with a sotfware, the natural way is include the software when you purcahse the hardware, same li ek include komplete kontrol because if not the hardware cant works, maschine give the useful to that physical part of the KK S MK2 series

In the promotional videos show how maschine software is used with KK but there never say that is mandatary purchase Maschine Mk3 to use this feature. And the hardware KK do not need MAschine Mk3 to run with MAschine 2

Depends what you need from a controller keyboard man. It’s a solid piece of kit, I have an MK1 and love it but agree fully with EvilDragon that one should definitely read the manual, look at reviews and ask as many questions as they need before shelling out $1k on hardware. If you use Live or any of the mentioned supported daws it will offer some great features (though improvements are welcomed/hoped for) but it is something that can assist in producing your next project for sure.

Spend some time with it.

Because it is included when you buy Maschine mk3, as that's the main hardware it's supposed to be used with.

Also, while integration of S-series mk2 keyboards with Maschine software is very good, it does NOT support all the functionality that's available on Maschine hardware. This is also why it doesn't come with the keyboard.

 

Different product altogether.
