I have a 1920 x 1024 screen, and Komplete Kontrol browser is still fixed at about 800 x 600 by default?

Now, load "Report the weather" from Synth Lead/CLassic Mono Lead/FM and open the synth GUI. Kontrol expands to fit the GUI,so the browser part of the window is now almost the height of the screen. Next, load "Electric Ghost" - the window shrinks to fit the GUI and is now half the height of the screen.

NI DEVELOPERS .... listen up - there's a handy feature in Windows and OSX called Window Resizing that lets users decide how big they'd like to have the windows on the screen. PLEASE look this up in the documentation and figure out how it works !!! And while you're at it pass the documentation onto the Maschine team. Thanks!!!

Apart from that that first impressions of the browser are ok, although it's pretty much the Maschine browser without Maschine glued on.

I think the Window is to small. I like (want) the Maschine Window with different sizes ;)

I think for me I like that it adapts to the plugin size when I am wanting to play something, but not when it limits the size of the browser. I wonder if the best approach would be to be able to decouple the plugin window from the browser so you can fix the browser size but still have a compact plugin window.

    Agree 100%

My screen is 2560x1440 and this is simply too small for me to use.

Yep, the usefulness is severely limited with a teeny weenie browser window. Please at least allow the browser to be resized to cut out all scrolling now needed to use what is otherwise a pretty handy and cool idea!

The KK software was designed to be used with the Keyboards and as a plug-in in your DAW. The KK software has an on screen overlay (OSO) that works with the keyboards when you press the browse button even whe. A larger browser pops up on screen temporarily. The idea is to get it out of the way when you don't need it and only use the amount of screen real estate that is necessary. I think it is because the GUI auto resizes that makes the manual resizing either difficult or not really making sense to implement. That being said, they should be able to do at least 3 different fixed sizes like Maschine has so there is an option for a larger minimum base size. Plugins would then resize based on whatever fixed minimum view size you have.

Maschine stand-alone has manual resizing. Kore has (had) manual resizing. Reaktor has manual resizing.

The OSD is a great idea, but the KK software is available without the keyboard and I think that means it should work in a nice friendly way without the keyboard. I often sit in my living room with a pair of headphones on a laptop to play around with sounds, and I don't expect that to change once the S61 is delivered. At least not after the initial "I need to play with this" period has expired lol

Honestly, vertical resizing shouldn't be hard to do, especially as it's been done in Maschine. If it's not built on a common code base I'd be very surprised.

I haven't seen ANY software but NI's that does not allow the user to manually resize windows in ages (Win95/98 times? but even back then you could resize almost EVERYTHING...). And this was also the first thing I noticed about the new software. Other than that it works fine and finally allows me to browse and search my sound again like i had in the old kore/komplete 7 times...

Pointless making remarks here to the NI developers, they don't read these forum, just send a request to support and get every other person who dislikes this (Everybody) to do the same, they may even read one or two of them ;)

    Hi there,
All I want to say here is that we do read the forums and we do consider the feedback. We just have to strike the right balance between the feedback each one of you provides - which is not always aligned. Add new cool stuff you haven't even requested yet to the list of possible directions and I hope you understand we're neither deaf or lazy! We understand that hosting 3P plug-ins in KK is a popular request, and so is resizing of the Library's results list. Naturally, no specific statements can be made, except that Komplete Kontrol will only get better.
    Thanks,
    Dinos

    Hey Dino

Thanks for the reply, nice to see a real live developer here :) and good to hear things are considered!

Oh ... and if you have a couple of spare minutes to do a few quick updates to Kore to make it work with K10, Maschine and KK that'd be great :D

I sure hope so; so far it's nothing special. Would love to see a large gui; way too small. Would also love to see some kind of notation on what synth or sampler is used in the browser BEFORE a patch is loaded.

I think the idea is that it doesn't matter what synth/sampler is going to be used as it's a "sound" browser. Having said that, would be a neat idea if it did show the origin of the sound. You can work it out by looking at the info box at the bottom but then you lose even more display space!

I would still like to know if it's a sampled flute from Kontakt 5 or a synthesized one from Massive, FM8 or Absynth. Without having to use a bunch of view filters.

Please fix this! Browsing thousands of sounds in a tiny patch window is so aggravating. I use multiple large monitors and not being able to enlarge the screen is so 1990! This should be an easy fix.

I'm still waiting for full screen for all program windows and favourites in the browser.

Come on guys ... Reaktor has full screen, why not Kontrol and the others? That can't be so difficult to implement.

Ever thought of pro studios, that work with multiple monitor setups?
