Service Center | Updates and missing Patches | Bug or install workflow?

    Hello. A bunch of issues and not sure where else to post them.

    I assume I have the latest version of Service Center, Not sure where to check. Whenever I run Service Center, I always Install it's updates since I purchased Komplete Ultimate. Also I use an external HD. To me it appears there's NI stuff in my apps folder about 3GB, 49k of stuff in my Documents folder and almost 300GB on my Audio Drive. This seem like a good install?

    Recently I made a new purchase outside of my Komplete purchase, Natural Forces. Installed and activated it. When I tried to load it in Kontakt an error says Kontakt needs to be updated. Service Center shows I need 6 update including Komplete, I install these. but opening a new session in Pro Tools 12/Mac there seems to be no update. After restarting service center, the 6 same updates are there again, and I go through this cycle a couple times before coming here to post. Kontakt player says "Import Version: 3.1.0.4".

    I'm not a Native Instrument veteran, please advise.

    Lastly, when I scroll through the 1000s of presets using Komplete Kontrol for example, maybe 10% have an error and say they're missing. So I'm wondering with these issues, do I not have a good install or update workflow?

    Sounds about right, since the apps alone need only a couple of Gigabytes. The rest of the disk space is mainly used up by the Komplete libraries (Kontakt and Battery).

    Well, Service Center can be a little big buggy sometimes (like still showing available updates which were already installed before).
    According to the product page of Natural Forces Kontakt 5 (Player) ver. 5.5.1.451 or higher is required. So:
    • Launch Kontakt standalone and check if your installed version meets the requirements and if it's working there.
    • Then check if Kontakt standalone and the Kontakt plugin used inside ProTools have the same program version (to confirm if the plugin was also updated correctly).
    Besides using Service Center, the latest updates can also be found in the download area (after you login with account): www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/
    I don't have a Komplete Kontrol, so:

    Thank you very much for the reply.

    I did try the standalone, great idea. Same results though.

    I did try to manually install an updated version, Kontakt 5.5.2. Says my installation folder can't be found and no option to locate it. Tells me to start Service Manager, which is where I'm having issues already as we know.

    I don't understand the the naming of the versions, mine says "3.1.0.4", but on the update page it's "5.5.2" 4 digits compared to 3.

    Where or when exactly does it say or show "3.1.0.4"?

    So there's no locate-button like mentioned here?:https://www.native-instruments.com/...-error-message-installation-folder-not-found/
    Otherwise you need to uninstall and re-install Kontakt with a full installer first (in contrast to using an update-installer) - for instance from the Komplete Ultimate install medium.

    Yeah, according to your screenshot you have Kontakt 5.4.2.245 installed.
    Natural Forces needs at least Kontakt 5.5.1.451

    I feel like I should wipe out everything NI and do a fresh install. If I was going after one error, it might be worth toying with. As for your other link on the manual install, Service Center is not showing any errors, it thinks all is fine. There's no way for me to tell it where my standalone is.

    Well, you can try to uninstall and re-install only Kontakt with a full installer first (using the original installer from the Komplete Ultimate install medium).

    You can still uninstall and reinstall all of the NI stuff later if you need to ...

    There's a chance you solve my missing Komplete Kontrol patches as well, I just don't have time to try and find the ones that were missing since I never took note. Cheers again!
