I contacted Native Instruments at least a year or two ago about this topic and they were completely unhelpful so thought I'd ask here in case someone else has seen this.

I have a high speed (150Mbs up/down) connection to the internet via FIOS. I have zero problems connecting to various systems all over the world using regular protocols and even some exotic ones.
However, Service Center (even the very latest one) will simply not connect to Native Instruments, it just times out.

However, if I run a VPN (I use Viscosity) so that my computer now has a different IP address and then run Service Center connect to Native Instruments, it works flawlessly.

I'm wondering therefore whether the Service Center program is trying to connect with some funky protocol that my firewall (a commerical Sonicwall) is blocking. However, I ran Wireshark and it didn't look like Service Center did anything other than standard http(s) connections, which are certainly not being blocked by my firewall.

Anyone else ever seen this issue?
