Service Center will not run - can't authorize!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have just installed Garritan Stradivari 2.0 and also installed Service Center. I went to authorize the package by using Service Center and I get this multi-lingual error page that says I need Macromedia Flash Player 8.0.22 or higher and it goes no fuirther. I have Macromedia Flash Player 9.0.28 installed and running fine with other apps. Seems there is a major bug w/ Service Center - I can't authorize my package and so far the support staff have not answered my support request. This doesn't speak well of NI in my mind. I have just read umpteen posts related to Service Center and authorization/registration problems.
Really folks - it should NOT BE THIS HARD or FRUSTRATING! Things should work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody got any insight beyond the usual "well just reinstall" this or that program? - already been there and done that!

I am having similar problems. It asks for Macromeida FLash Plugin, and the only version of the DLL mentioned is Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19.

I went to the Adobe site, and reinstalled, and it looks fine, but when I seach again for the DLL, there isn't any other DLL.

Who the hell write a critical peice of Activation software, and throws flash into it to be cute, and have a pretty graphic, and then have it fail.

Flash should not be a critical part of an activation application.

    I need help.

I have a similar issue. When I try to install Service Center, everything seem to be going fine but then it hangs at the point where it's copying the homepage url. The program shows up in start menu but won't run. I've also submitted a support request and haven't heard back. Frustrating.

    Clarkeo,

I have exactly the same issue that SC hangs at the homepage url file copying stage. Raised it with NI last night, but I'm a few days behind you! I'm going to try some of the suggestions in this thread but if you get resolution from NI could you post the result to this thread? That would be a great help.

    Thanks,

    Alan

This is what I'd try if I were you...

First, uninstall the old version. For Mac users, see this for how to do a clean uninstall under OSX.

Then, install the Service Center version found here. See if that fixes your problem.

Well, I finally resolved my issue. I believe I had some other system issues as well because I lost my ASIO drivers and windows was acting strangely. I ended up backing up and reformatting and reinstalling my OS and programs. A tedious solution but it worked.

Well... I finally got a solution. I uninstalled Internet Explorer and installed Firefox as my browser. Service Center now runs perfectly well. Perhaps I could have uninstalled and reinstalled IE... I suspect IE was hanging onto some cached data that was preventing SC from working, but it's all guess work to be honest!
