It would be superb if i could set the range of the loop i'm working on for editing and overdubbing. Does anybody else miss this? The three knobs in pattern mode could be used for this; one for the start point, two for the end point and three to select the area you want to work on.

    +1 :p

Seriously i'm finding i need it more and more. If i have a 5 bar synth line and i want to extend and alter it i have do it via the software which kills the flow.

    +1. Yes. Absolutely.

And a play head which you could move to start playback where you want.

Glad i'm not the only one. ;)

This could resolve the clip merge issue as well; all you'd have to do is select the midi data in your clip, switch patterns' select loop range and paste the midi data. :D

Iso H, what would you use the playhead for?

For parameter lock step editing it's essential imo. Either that or copy and paste automation but that wouldn't work for realtime editing. The step editing is a really powerful feature of maschine, just started getting into it after i read some comments about it being similar to the machine drums. It's just another way of working with maschine/ For glitch and idm and just general in depth editing it would be killer. :)
