I am interested in a new set up using an s4 as a mixer and timecoded vinyl.

I understand this as being a reasonably simple process of plug in the 1210s to the s4 inputs > set them to phono > set deck to live input/timecode(with tsp2) > calibrate if using timecode

This would then free up the s4 jogwheels to use with a custom mapping such as the djtechtools mapping released the other week.

    My questions are:

    1. Would the above scenario work?
    2. Does the s4 work with win 7 yet? I guess this is the potential deal breaker and the reason I initially bought a ddj-t1 over an s4. I've previosly never had issues with traktor 2, and my laptop is nothing special (samsung r530). There seems to be mixed reports - is this still hit and miss - is there anything offical from NI?

Thanks Danny , I got rid of the ddj t1 as I found the soundcard wasn't that good otherwise I would have probably kept it

what kind of pc you have, maybe if you can try an s4 as you allready have an traktor installed with your laptop b4 buying!
it saves you a lot of trouble later!
if timecode of importance than s4 is probley the only option around, unless you use a standalone sound card or you buy an mixer like denon 1600 which can do time code! take your laptop to the shop but install s4 driver before you go and try it out!
