    Hello guys!

I have quite few problems with Traktor 2.5 since I got my new MIDI-controllers. I'm using Reloop Contour IE and Reloop Contour CE for the decks and Korg Nanokontrol2 as the mixer. At first - I really like using my own MIDI-mappings, because I tend to use controllers in a different manner then they are originally intented to be a better match to my style of mixing. So all the controllers where connected to my laptop, using a external-powered hub. Had a few driver Problems, nothing critical, everything works. Starting Traktor showed up all the controllers in the settings "input" and "output" tab, Traktor recieves MIDI information from all of them, everything's ok. Then I created the "Generic MIDI-Device"s to make my own *.tsi mapping. It worked perfectly fine and without any problem until I came up to using 5 tsi-mappings at once. Traktor suddenly began to react reeeaal slow like it was not possible to work in the settings anymore. When I deleted the 5th mapping it was normal again - created it, it was slow again. Thing is, I need more than 4 mappings at once - even the original tsi provided by reloop is split up into 5 map's and i need it twice.

Tortured by the slowness i completed the mappings (I have 12 - 1 Keyboard, 8 for the Contour Deck's, 2 for the Effect Sections, 1 for the Korg) and - fortunately - they do work. But everytime I try to enter the settings there is a 10 second freeze and i have a 1 to 3 chance to make Traktor crash. When i try to change the selected MIDI-mapping e.g. from Keyboard to Korg in the controller editing section, it's the same. When I try to close Traktor, it even takes about 1 minute to close - plus a chance to crash so all the changes in collection aren't saved.

While mixing Traktor works as usual.

    I'm using a ASUS A73T Laptop:

CPU: AMD A6-3420M Quadcore (1,5 GHz)
    RAM: 6 Gb DDR3
    OS: Windows 7 64 Bit

Have you any idea what's causing the issues?

    greetings from Germany

    SQenix

PS.: I know, Reloop say's their Contour controllers don't work well with AMD Chipsets, but I dont think thats the Problem because everything works except of closing Traktor and opening its settings.

    Hi SQenix,

Ever tried to map your last (cause of problem) controller"s commands in one of existing four .tsi'?

    Thanks for your answer!

I did that after posting this topic, works quite well! But thing is, what can I do if I buy another MIDI-controller, needing a new device in the settings? It would be awesome if it's possible to fix the issue.

I tried to figure out the problem more specifically:

Everytime I add a MIDI-device, entering the settings, changing the selected device or closing Traktor becomes slower. Adding the fifth one, it's just slow enough to find these pauses annoying.

Searching the Traktor folders I found out that every *.tsi-file i about the same size (about 700kb) no matter if its an empty or filled one. That answers why five empty devices also slow Traktor.

Can someone test if adding MIDI-devices also makes his Traktor slower?

Maybe it's a general problem about Traktor. I really don't get the sense of making an empty *.tsi file as big as a full one.

Thanks for your help in advance!

I think that problem could be with your system.

I'm using bcd3000 along with one DIY controller and my mapping contain eight MIDI devices in one complex .tsi file. I'm not finding such a issue in this scenario..

    But,

When I add another MIDI controller with this many generic MIDI devices to my setup (16 generic) then I experience this same issue you're talking about, and, my cpu is fine dual core.

I have the same problem. Did you find any solution to it? I find it much easier to change and modify my mappping since i devide them into several pieces, but this slow performance is really anoying. Would it help if i mapp everything on one mapping page?

It sure will but I hit another problem then, not near enough modifiers. Only seven in one generic mapping...

I wasnt able to fix the problem yet... I learned to leave with waiting for the menu, but its realy annoying. I dont get why this should make traktor that slow, hope someone finds a solution finally.

I have tried it, and now im mapping everything from scratch again... It's harder to map, but everything is better than to wait 1 minute for settings or to close Traktor. I don't see the point in putting thoose extra pages, when you cant use them properly.

    (can't wait 3.5-4.0)

Only issue I my case are modifiers. Point is, if have enough modifiers to build some bigger mapping in just one eventually two generic devices that could fix this prolonged loading. It should then increase chance for adding more controllers with advanced mappings in setup without Traktor having a neap before ready.
I agree that by adding more generics to tsi you can keep things more organized that way and it's really great and more easy to get around while editing if needed. It could be likely that adding multiple generic devices was better supported in some of earlier versions?

The modifier issue can be fixed by using the hold option in their setup. If you have two modifiers keys that are used only on hold, why not make them both on modifier 1 (one to turn it to modifier m1=1, and the other m1=2). That way you save one modifier for something else. Hope you get the point bc my english is no that good.

I see what you are saying, it's good point and something I'm already doing. I'm not new to mappings and modifiers and only reason for me to add another generic mapping to tsi is because I burn all modifiers in existing midi devices.

Maybe you will have better understanding if you take a look of these. I'm creating multipage mapping.

Deeesi zemo, pozdrav! Your englishman is fine so let better keep the forum rules. Question haven't sounded stranger than your answer kralju. It's nice to know that more guys from around are getting involve in this mapping ****. :D

As for issue, and it is an issue definitely, we should call for support and let them know about it. I don't see any workaround for this. And it's really annoying.

Yeah, you're right. It's not acceptable to not be able to get those mappings work properly.

Well, i really got into this mapping thing since i bought my new controller and just can't find the perfect combo of efx and buttons. Just when i started mapping i found our how Traktor is "krljav" and need some serious tweeking.

I'm having the same problem. 4 mappings is fine, but 5 makes Traktor hang when starting/shutting down, opening preferences, or switching between mappings.

I'm using Denon MC3000 with Toshiba Satellite laptop and Traktor 2.5.1

    CPU: Pentium Dual-Core T4500 @ 2.30GHz
    RAM: 4Gb
    OS: Windows 7 64 Bit

I guess combining my separate mappings into 1 or 2 mappings is going to solve the hanging issue, but I can't find any simple ways of doing this. Are there any Windows based options for combining mappings, other than by re-entering each line manually?

Ok, so i got a completely new problem now. I started remaping my tsi from scratch in order to put everything in one midi generic mapping. And everything worked just fine until it was time to map some beatmasher buttons.
This is what happens: When i map some beatmasher modifier buttons and effect deck assign LEDs, the whole mapping goes nuts. My modifier keys stop changing my LED states (btw, i do have send monitor state mapped). It's like i dont press the modifier button but i can see in the controler editor that the modifier is turning on. I thought that i made a mistake somwhere but this doesent happen all the time...sometimes it works just fine, sometimes i have to press the modififer button several times to get the right led state.
One more thing, when i erase some OUTPUT commands everything starts working just as usual. Does anyon have any ide why is this happening? Is it possible that traktor gets buggy when you put too many command. This would be so silly since you cant have a complexed mapping.
    Please help.
