I noticed that the USB plug is very tight and sort of difficult to insert/remove. I'm kind of worried that it might get damaged after repeatedly inserting/removing. Should I go back to guitar center and try to buy a warranty from them since I already purchased the s4, or will the manufacturers warranty cover that sort of problem?

If the manufacturer does cover that problem, how long would it take to have them repair it and send it back?

    Thanks!

it supposed to be tight to stop any accidental disconnections i think..!
just be careful everytime you ditch it coz if you break it and have to send it back to NI you'll be waiting for a month to get it back...!

I try to be very cautious when I remove it by pulling on the head of the usb

I think it's intentional to stop accidental removal. I never remove mine, if I move the S4 the cable comes with it.

I'm surprised you're having to constantly remove it. Are we to assume it's not in a permanent case and in a bag? I believe it was purposefully made to be tight so that you're not running into situations during gigs where it might come undone. If you're using a bag, I suggest in the long term getting it in a permanent case since big ticket items like that I personally find a way to put it in a case over a bag. And with some of the cases out there, I've found that the standard USB cable sticks out a bit too much. I've since converted the cables to right-angle versions (you can find these easily online) so that I don't run into space issues.

Pull the cable from the connector, using your fingers to press in the gap between the connector and the controller, that way it slides easier and you don't get the feeling of "I'm gonna rip this appart" when you unplug it.

The USB connection on the S4 is fine. I've carefully removed and reinserted it about 100 times to move the unit for gigs, etc. It's still snug. ...and that is a good thing! :)
