To be fair, that could mean anything, "Akai release guitar tuner with built in jamming drum machine/metronome for guitarist, MPTunerC"
Get my point, they could release a Mouse for Android, and that would mean that MPC was not the final product"
Everything from every company is worded in specific perfect ways, so that they don't say anything damning and final, basically because they are all sh**pants hahaha

All of us can be right or wrong in this situation. At any cases we need to be positive, folks ;) Found that i really don't like how MPC Touch looks on demo videos after 20 minutes of use: fingerprints! :( And next thing that i still not familiar with - touch screens. Personally i hate it but know that this is a future for sure. Like huge amount of buttons on Maschine \m/

I prefer to be realist over positive any day....
The realist gets out of the water when they see a shark fin, the positive thinks "It wont get me" haha

As for touch screens, you better start dealing with it, it is the future, end of story, DJ Player on Ipad is encroaching in to all the major players on Windows/OSX for DJs, admittedly once you have it set up with a controller you barely use the screen, and once it is set up for DVS the screen is mainly for browsing files, but it is a major step forward here for tablets that and DJay Pro, but that has no DVS yet)
With the new Moog modular software being Ipad only, and Korg gadget and so on, we are seeing something of a new wave of music making tech, it kind of reminds of the mp3 revolution....
"Hey, we have this new audio format, it is actually utter sh*t compared to CD, but you can have soooooo many files in a thing that fits in your pocket"
"Hey, we have this new music making technology, it is actually utter sh*t compared to your DAW and VST, but you can have soooooo many add ons in a thing that fits in your pocket"
Time moves on and both of those change significantly
"Hey, Remember that new audio format, yeah pretty much as good as CD now"
"Hey, Remember that new music technology, Yep as good as your DAW and VST"
We are at that point pretty much (Although i still think mp3 is sh*t haha)

Current iPhones are graphically superior to most modern consoles and within a few years will surpass desktop computers simply because it's the area receiving the bulk of the tech industry's research & development dollar$.

The only real limitations are storage and RAM, but that will change quickly.

I would not be surprised if the mk3 hardware connected to my phone via bluetooth, which in turn streamed it's display to my giant TV...

Audio applications are rarely required to render game level graphics.
I was using graphics as an example of an area mobile devices have already reached parity with most other consumer devices.

The iPhone6s already outperforms last years Macbooks...

That probably should have read "The iPhone6s already outperforms last years Macbooks in some areas*..."
For what it's worth, I don't own an iPhone or an iPad, but the writing is clearly on the wall.

I really hope NI releases an update soon. People around here are so touchy...

Not touchy at all, it just pisses me off when people compare iPhone to an shitty low level laptop as macbook. I would never consider buying an macbook to use it for music production, it was designed to do some basic stuff and it's cons are in size and weight not in performance. Still you can install any regular (as non mobile) software on it, which you cannot do on an phone.
Would you consider switching your laptop to a phone to work on it? CPU is not everything, you need os and soft and connectivity and more.

Sorry if I was to offensive. ;)

No problem. No offence taken. :)

Not currently, mobile/tablets just aren't there yet. I expect that to change over the next few years though.
I've read estimates that by 2017/2018 about 90% of computers sold will be handheld.

I can't imagine NI, Ableton etc... would be happy to have a product that only reaches 10% of potential customers. They'll simply have to adapt or they'll fade away.

The iPad Pro is already a pretty compelling device. Imagine what a few more years will bring...

But I guess this numbers are for people using laptops for everyday tasks like e-mails, internet and other simple office stuff. How will it with people who use laptops for work – music production especially?
I know that mobile devices are getting more powerful every day, but I hope laptops will get some power too. Except for apple because they are going the wrong way. I've got 4 macs at home which I use every day they are from 2009-2012. Newer hardware is not that much better than 2011-2012 line.

One thing i'm looking forward is something like Microsoft Surface – a touch device with real OS, hopefully with OS X sooner or later ;)

Not strictly true, Tablets are there, that is a simple fact, the current breed of hi end Windows tablets are very very good and perform extremely well for Musicians purposes, however the software from the developers of desktop audio software, that is a different matter, touch support is near archaic (being polite here) and in a lot of cases resolution dependence is a huge downfall too, yes i am Looking at you NI, I have a 1200x800 tablet, it has an Atom CPU and absolutely flies for doing little noodles while i am DJing, throwing in beats and a few synths while i play, but do you think you can turn a dial on that bad boy ins software, neither by touch or by mouse, it just jumps to max or min, no i am not picking on NI before any of the choir start singing, i am stating a simple provable FACT !!
NI are not the only ones, most Windows desktop apps on anything below 12-13" screen have near impossible menus to navigate by touch (NIs wont even open, Reapers you need to touch about twenty times, and then when it reacts, bam, wrong option selects hahaha, just two examples)

So we are in a quandry here....
Android has amazing Touch interface, but the audio software is lacklustre at best..................................................................................................................................................................with that much latency haha
IOS has a good touch interface, the audio software is actually getting there, Cubasis/Gadget/Moog Modular/DJ Player/DJay Pro, these are some of the examples of software that is really making headway in to desktop style performance, and some, like Gadget and the Moog modular, most of us would love to have in the desktop space, but the price performance ratio on IOS is a joke at best, a £400 Ipad is slower than a £30 ebay special Chinese Android tablet haha

the only thing NI can do to get the drop on everyone is if they do a standalone maschine that can be a controller

if they come about with a maschine with just a touch screen; all the silence and working in secret may have been for nothing.

That is weird, there is a big push by a lot of companies i have visited, to slim down their carbon footprint, part of this is finding out the exact smallest computing solution they can find for their employees, this is definitely pushing towards mobile computing, although they are being offered tax breaks vs carbon concessions, so maybe that has a lot to do with it.

But i am not in that industry, so this is observation from the outside.
A good one to watch in the UK is the schooling system, quite a lot of the more central or bigger schools are now pushing the whole "Pad in every hand" idea that was bandied around a few years back, they are finding that the expenditure on Books/Computing/Administration can be offset quite well against a pad for every child, especially with the reductions in cost they get on the hardware from the bigger manufacturers.

I think the guy on the right is a much better actor. I feel his tension is believable. And the special fx? Incredible... How do they make that ball bounce like that?

I did a seance to contact the long lost spirt of Maschine and it told me: "Just replace the pads with miniature stretched goat skins, and use it daily with drum sticks. No electricity needed." :p
