Is there a way to show some custom text on one or both of the Maschine displays under Maschine 1.8.2?
I mean can I change the usual displayed things like FX and show something like a special text file for annotations instead? Or is there a plugin maybe which is used as FX and uses its interface as text field or something? I want to use the Maschine to write down some notes for my live performances. That would be great!

I think you have to use the accessory you need to use with Maschine (your computer...:)

I don't use my computer for live performances, since the display is not opened.
If anybody else knows a workaround, plugin or any other way to display customized text on the Maschine display please let me know.

I know of a couple ways to write text to the displays, it all depends how long what you need to write is and if you want to use maschine in midi mode or not?

Sounds great, thanks for your answer.
I don't use the Maschine in MIDI mode, just in normal live sampling mode.
And the texts shouldn't be too long, just a few short annotations to some sets for example. Is that possible?

If you don't want to use midi mode then you can use a custom plugin to display text above the knobs, I wrote a vst around the time m2 was launched that sent midi from the pads and knobs to any midi port you selected from the maschine, you could use the space above the knobs to write in whatever you needed. It wouldn't take to long to write a plugin that just updated text displays.

The other option is using midi mode, you can write to the screens quite easily and have a good amount of text displayed.

When I get a chance il do some experimenting and post a better reply :)

That sounds good but as I said unfortunately I am only working in normal/sampling mode.

Thanks a lot, that would be great. I don't need that much space for text, just a few annotations for the flow e.g: "Part A, B, A, C, break, D, D repeat" etc.
