Show Off Your D2 Setup.

Hey,

how is your DB4 setup (menu)? I am a bit confused with the output levels and wondering if I have some setting wrong in the DB4?

I have DB4, D2, 2xF1 + X1MK2 (also 2 x Technics 1210, but since I do not have Scratch Pro I am not using them in this setup)

Please do not discuss hacking Traktor DVS to work with 3rd party soundcards/mixers.

Here is my home studio setup, 2x Traktor D2's, Traktor S8, 2x Technics SL1210 Mk2, Machine Studio, Audio 8 sound card, Traktor time code, 2x Dennon CDJ's, the list goes on

 

Here's my realtime DJ workflow setup

 

Guys, heard it is not recommended to use S8 and D2 together.
any issue regarding screen displays, Fader & FX knobs malfunctioning, etc?
am i controlling D2's top 4 knobs to control Fx unit 3 or 4 just like controlling FX unit 1 and 2 on each side of S8?
very important matter in whether i get it or not. thanks in advance.

 

I'm using 2 D2's and S8 without any issues for full 4 deck control. my D2 deck C and D uses the bottom control knobs for effects. very easy setup

 

why using bottom control knobs when top knobs are default for FX?

 

i also use D2's with the S8 and have no problems what so ever,don't know who told you not to use them together but they obviously not in the know, even N.I have done it themselves with no issues!!

so u mean you can't control fx 3/4 using top knobs on D2 which supposed to be assigned by default?
if it's true, that is already a big problem dude.

 

could you also confirm me about what alex is describing?

 

its more of an inconvenience than a problem. i think its more of a firmware thing that can easily be fixed(thats only if its my error in assignment)

 

you sure theres any other issue like performance fader display conflict?
i saw a Ean goldens video he uses s8+d2 to control 3 stem decks but
think i suspected above.

 

aside from the waveforms beatgrid pc display to kontrol UIs that everyone talks about, everything works well for me. havent seen any hw conflicts

Just picked mine up a few hours ago. Setup is as such for the time-being (laptop above top of image on a stand):

Might grab a second D2 in a couple of months, see how we go. Could delegate the X1 to portable gig duties, haven't decided yet. Will also need a wider desk/table to place everything on, though that might require making that DJ table using Ikea parts that quite a few people have already built. That would allow for a second F1 to be added in, though.

Might even build a roadcase when I get a second D2, though that won't be for a good six months or so unless a decent off-the-shelf case becomes available before then.

 

I had almost the same set with the exception of having also two 1210s and a DB4 as mixer and I can foresee you getting the other D2 in about two weeks time I at least did so...

Hey,

has anyone figured out (or needed to) how to activate a loop with the D2 or is it just something you can do from the SW?
Sometime you don't want to jump to the loop but just make sure its activated once you get there...
