Sweet filter knobs

 

Thanks, I'm not a fan of the small knobs included in the kit.

 

Very old school rotary mixer-like. I love it.

 

Cool filter knobs, where did you get them from? Did you have a close up picture of them?

Talking about rotary mixers, does pose a question, as the mixer/fader panel is removable, do people think it would be cool if a rotary version came out alone the lines of what vestal and pioneer do?

 

Growing up on Bozaks, Urei, and Rane Rotary mixers, Rotaries would be awesome. Although the channels might be a little close together, but it still might work.

 

They're not as close as you think, I have been doing this years with my X1s, then eventually the S4, F1, Z2 and now the S8. It makes a world of difference.

 

Setup Nov 2nd:
S8, S4 MKII, 2x1210 M5G, Air 11" i7 8GB.
Worked great! (S4 because no S8 user mapping)

 

True, when I did my first with the S8 this weekend the laptop was placed to the side, but I realized the issues (color waveform & previously played tracks). After a while I needed my laptop closer to see what I had played, but also to do searches faster via the keyword searches. Im still getting use the idea of searching and loading via the small screen, the only other experience I had with was with CDJ-2000NXS (which I play with at a few gigs).

 

Basically the screen's color mode show the waveform in "Ultraviolet" and there's no option to change, I personally like "Spectrum". And there's no indicator's to tell if you already played a song.

 

I asked these very questions several times at the per-realease Q&A demo's that were posted. Nobody ever answered. Seems like some pretty basic options that should have been included, but no confirmation they weren't included until my unit arrived at which point I got my answer.

 

Here's me and my mate's setup when we play back to back. His S8 vs my X1/Z1/F1. We currently have to use the touch strips to beat match but we're getting a MIDI cable soon so we can sync the MIDI clocks.
