sooo. $25 for a flanger and cabinet? like you cant just add those into the ensemble if needed? Anybody who bought this and used the original version. Is it worth the upgrade?

what qualifies as having previously registered? if just having downloaded the free version counts, why would anybody pay full price?

Previously registered means registering the instrument in Service Center.

Without cabinet and flanger. It's free. The old holiday Reaktor Skanner.

So basically NI is saying to us "if you didn't get it before, HA HA, you have to pay" and "Want some more crap for an ensemble we made for free? You have to pay".

I like NI less and less with each new product decision.

Don't be silly. No one is forcing you to buy it. Just because they had a liimited time giveaway (Holiday gift), doesn't mean they should continue to give it away forever. They are a business and have to make money. If it is "crap" as you call it, why are you so sour anyway?
    Sincerely,
    J.L.

a question about the morpher section:

i want to use the synth live. but i cant click around on the interface while playing live. i need some midi or osc remote controlling. it is not mentioned in the manual.
    so:
is it possible to remote control the big round morph thing with a x/y midi pad?
or direct acess the 8 slots and the snap groups?
    thanx

edit: i use reaktor, not the player

Depends on your attitude...as to the original giveaway, seems like NI was actually saying, "Here is a lighter version of an upcoming product FOR FREE that we will be selling later as our way of saying happy holidays to our users".

Quite nice sentiments from my POV, wasted on some apparently :(

I have very much appreciated NI's holiday's surprise Reaktor gift each year and am looking forward to upgrading Skanner for the modest fee.
    ---
The 8 snap slots respond to standard MIDI 'program changes' and the only thing you are really 'mousing' in the circle is click-switching these snaps. The 'dot' can be manually moved via the 'position' knob (MIDI learnable) or automatically controlled by the 'speed' and/or 'LFO' settings, there is no mouse clicking control for it (the 'dot') within the 'circle' at all.

thanx for the reply. sorry for being a bit accurate in asking, but i have a exact idea what i want and have been disapointed in reaktor some times when i thought "of course this will work" and then a little detail prevented it :)

this means i can direct choose a snap GROUP via programm change (NOT with the arrows and midi-learn).

but i HAVE to use the mouse to select one of these 8 snaps for source/destination...

so my idea does not work :( . i must be absolute mouse free...

    correct me:

it seems the same with morphing presets in the normal pane - choosing source/destination CAN NOT be remote controlled (osc or midi), HAS to be done with mouse...

    thx

this would be a killer feature for me :)

    edit: shame...
the snapshot module does it of course for reaktor. though i cant alter a and b with knob/fader here...
    but for skanner? ...

I never said that Skanner was crap.

Your glass is half full, mine is half empty.

NI is giving us something small as an upgrade for more than it should be, and for those that didn't get the original, they have to pay to get something that is frankly, quite overpriced.

they don't 'have to' pay for anything. they can either choose to buy it or not. for somebody who got something for free you sure do like to complain :|

Anyone that's used both the free and XT version care to comment on the sound design possibilities the new effects add?

I like Skanner, but I'm not sure how much the new effects will suit my needs. I generally use Skanner for degraded (I often like to set reaktor at 11025 to really cut the high end), slowly modulated ambient sounds, nothing harsh or fidgety. Plus, I already use the echo for chorus and flanging sounds.
