    Thanks Stephan,
it is a pleasure to see that the old spirit of NI still survives at least within Reaktor, the same spirit that made its name great in the field of synthesis as a brand voted to future oriented, brave and innovative products, rather than pre-digested, fluffy sample based things.

I guess that a petition to set you back as the CEO of the company wouldn't be enough, would it?

    Skanner is awesome.

This is one of THE BEST Reaktor Ensembles ever.
One question to all fellow "Reaktorites":
What types of WAV/AIFF's do you folks drop into it to make it sound smooth like butter ?
From my experimentation with it so far I assume it does that type of smoothness best with those "predictable", wavetable-like samples.I say this because if I feed it nonlinear/irregular/atonal samples (without clearly defined pitch), it sounds rather harsh.
Today I will test it some more with wavetables as I am seeking smooth, soft padlike sounds. I mostly don't like to achieve harsh sounds, for harshness is so easily attainable in a digital environment. In other words, harsh sounds - we have enough of them.

To achieve smoothness you need to be careful in the scanning sections to keep the scanning waves smooth, slow moving, etc. Then the source waves might also need to be rather mellow.

Feedback should be off, that usually adds an edge.

I think the whole point of Skanner was to achieve some rather different types of sounds, not smooth and mellow. The sound of Skanner is like a sort of ring modulated FM synthesis - rather difficult to get mellowness from that.

I posted a Skanner ensemble in the U/L which does have a few 'mellow' sounds - a 'mini new age' section in the snapshots. But the 4 macros controls are there which untame the beast even in those snapshots.

a question : can we use our own samples in Skanner if we use only the reaktor player ?
and if yes , how to do it ?

    No, you can't.
You must have to whole Reaktor thing to do this.

    Best.

Sorry for this being an abrupt first post, but I own a reaktor player (AKA not the full version) and am able to load my own samples... I placed them in my samples library for the skanner. Just throwing that out there.

You've got some nice things going on there sir. I especially like Coldjack, Behind the Night, Atlantian Threnody...well hell I tend to gravitate the jazzy-trip-hop-funked out stuff, of which you have decent supply of. I'm going to bookmark your soundcloud :D
If you don't mind my asking, what are your weapons of choice (i.e. plugs, etc.)?
