Ski using customized Maschine in combination with Live

yeah man I saw that last night, I love it...I like the white, I did an all white mpc 4k when I had it...something about the white makes gear look dope! I want the side panels for mine.

 

Yeah, don't know why ni doesnt jump on custom faceplates/ sidepanels/ colored knobs/ different led colour, or maschine soundpacks for that matter, could bring in serious cash for them, after all maschine is 1,5 years old so..

 

FYI~ this can be done in Logic as well......just drag a mp3 to an audio track, and then choose that track as the sidechain input on the maschine plugin window.....

can somebody explain the wooden side panels, how was that possible there are no side panels on maschine right so how do you attatch them?

 

Maybe some clip on type of thing, or nothing some powerglue can't fix

the white just looks so dope because the pads are whitish as well. I love the wooden sides, but frosted glass would probably also be really sick. Er maybe even the same rubber they used for the pads.

I think NI will come out with a special artist series as it says artist series on Skibeatz' controller. Just hope it's not something only for new buyers.

It's funny though... people always want to change their workstation to another color.

 

At first I thought Skibeats might have done all the custom work himself, with the skin from styleflip and had the side panels fabricated...but then I watched the video again and in the very beginning you can see that the panel where you plug in the usb cable is also white, and its definitely not a styleflip cover....looks like it came with a white paint job...Which is f***in' sick! Too bad NI hadn't mass produced / advertised this option because I would've been ALL OVER it.

The side panels look easy to re-create on your own though...just need some elbow grease and some ingenuity.

 

yeah it's not a styleflip, def a special edition from NI...for ski...now I want to see what the other artists have!

 

What would be nice is if NI would provide us as product owners the labeling template layout, so that way if we did choose to get a custom paint job we could do so with out much hassle. Now being the mod is only cosmetic that shouldn't void our warranty, would it? There's a site that does custom kit paint jobs but the url/name escapes me for now. I believe the did the RZA's limited edition MV-8800's sometime back.

 

Yeah it's called Forat. But I have a feeling NI will come out with something like an artist series.

 

he could of got this done anywhere its just a paint job with panels so does not need to come from ni.

many companies offer gear mods im sure the same peeps that can custom paint an mpc would be able to do the same for the ni controller

 

What i also like about the skin is that the shift functions are also written on the hardware itself.

 

I was just acquiring on how to import MP3's to the maschine because now those old vinyl records have been remastered and sound a lot better. I'm gonna try to use protools 8 le with maschine as a plug in like Skibeatz did in Abelton Live and see how that goes. Anyone have any other suggestions let me know.

 

yeah, you're right, you can probably have it customized many places...

but this one did come from NI

 

Yeah but his says "Artist series". That's not something you would put on yourself.

 

and this is also not the first white custom maschine I have seen either.
