Ok, I know it's supposed to be glitchy, and my dogs hate it too! But ... I'm having trouble with sounds I don't think SHOULD have pops/glitches in them.

"Bohr Was Wrong" - for example. It's actually a nice calming pulsing drone, but regardless of what I do, there's pops/glitches while it's playing back.

    3.06 iMac
    12 Gb Memory
    MOTU 828 MkII Interface

This happens while running Reaktor all by itself. No other programs open.
CPU meter is hanging around 4.8 to 5.5 or so.
On the pops - there's a small spike on the cpu meter up around 7.8 or so. Doesn't seem like enough of a CPU load to be doing this.
I've adjusted the levels of everything down so the out meter stays out of red completely and only slightly ventures into the yellow as the sound pulses.

Changing the sample rate or control rate has no effect. "Legacy Mode" on or off has no effect either.

Ideas? It's LOVE to use this particular sound in a project, but can't because of the pops...

Just checked, no pops here with that particular snap. Not knowing more (about Motu set-up) I would say clock issue (not syncing digitally) IF you are using any form of digital IO? Otherwise:

-Change latency setting? (I am 512 here). Try 1024
-Change CPU usage (I am 95% here)
-Try 'built in audio' out to eliminate MOTU settings/issue?

I have the MOTU 828 Mk III but it is not hooked up at the moment so am running 'Built-in' here for the time being.

    Mac Pro 8 core 16 GB RAM/2.6 Ghz/10.5.8 (Leopard)/Reaktor 5.6.2

Ahhh - forgot about that. Around 700 seems to do the trick...

I've got some mods I want to try to do to Skrewell. Now that it's not popping and crackling (unless that's what the patch is supposed to do), I've got renewed interest. Will post back if anything successful comes of it.

Skrewell is a barking dog! It is maybe a dog alien hybrid? who knows? I call it alien wolf dog from outer space beyond reality! It's strange!

There was a great 'sequenced' version ('rafi Skrewell'?) in the UL....wonderful for 'circuit bent' sound stuff. Also some great snaps (Bernd Keil, etc) so be sure and search the UL (didn't Rick Scott/Rachmeil also do one? ...should be "sKrewell_reMix.ens' below going by his characteristic titling)

Here is the random contents of a folder of Skrewell mods that I had downloaded over time:
