Slice mode - freezing constantly (only in 2.0.2, not 1.8) with video

Yesterday I finally had some time to really dig into Maschine 2.0 and Maschine Studio. Going into Slice Mode constantly froze up if I was hitting the pads kind of fast (not even as fast as in the video, though).

My computer is Windows 7, 64-bit, Core2Duo.. with 8GB of ram. This same thing happened in 32-bit Maschine as well as 64-bit which I tested after I made the video. Also, tried with MK2 controller. Same problem. Definitely a software thing.

My comp is not online at all, and has no bloatware or extra programs running. I am a computer nerd and know how to optimize computers for audio and recording. I tested this with two different ASIO audio interfaces and the same problem. However, with the better interface, it just would freeze up, but wouldn't "buzz" like with the lesser interface shown in the video.

I should say that this happened with any wav file I imported to a pad, or if I sampled live into Maschine. Whether it was the Maschine library or my user library or bringing a sample in from an external drive. Same thing, every time.

If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm thinking NI might know about this already, hence the upcoming 2.05 update.

By the way, the video password is glitch (it's a private video).

This only happens in slice mode... as in, when I'm playing around with the slices and/or editing them. No issues whatsoever in live playback/pattern mode, etc. ONLY in Sampling/Slice.

P.S. I tried the Prehear fix.. even with prehear off (or simply dragging a sample into the pad, without using the browser)... same problem.

 

Believe this is related to the issue of browsing with prehear on with older processors like core2duo which is already reported. The slice audition is using the same sample audition bus.

Just to inform, I have the same issue on a core2duo Macbook Pro. As "themixtape" said, I wasn't happening in V1.8.

I have exactly the same problem. Someone reported it was a 'memory leak' and they will pick this up for 2.05. I can't make beats at all. Same issue arises on my setup when loading kits, samples, recorded/sliced samples.

I'm running a pentium4 dual core with 4gb memory/ windows 7 64bit Mashine MK1 - focusrite saffire LE

I'd like to know when the 2.05 update will drop?!

 

Installed 2.05 update... so far, so good. No freezes on pre-hear/browsing samples/sounds.... and no freezes in Sampling Mode-- "Slice" menu.

 

I should say that I tried this out with the ASIO4all driver for my interface, not the standard ones yet...

Already read a lot of negative feedback about the update not fixing anything..... hope this isn't the majority.

 

Installed it as well. No freezes I am very relieved. I have been working with the update for 2 days. No issues so far when sampling slicing, and scrolling through my sounds/samples.

But when I start using Massive/Prism and such I do get clipping issues. No idea if this is due to my system (P4, 4GB memory) specs.
