    Hi,

I would like to cut a sample into different pieces and I'd like to have these pieces on different sounds, or have them in one sound, but I'd like to cut pieces out of the sample as they are not needed.

I do not understand how to simply copy one slice of a sample to a different sound.

    Help is appreciated!

Sounds like you just want to truncate the sample (only leave what is in the slice).

Instead of using "slice" mode, simply use the start and end points of the sample playback (not with Maschine right now so I can't remember the exact terms).

I was afraid of that answer :) After I sliced the sample for hours ...

How many slices do you have? If you want a specific slice on its own pad I think there is an apply to option that will put that slice onto a pad. I don't remember exactly. What I usually do is to duplicate the pad with the sliced sample. select the slice you want in sample mode and the slice tab is is selected (by tapping the corresponding pad) go to the edit tab on the left screen and choose truncate on the right screen, use the arrows if truncate is the available option. That will get rid of everything else but the chosen slice content.

Its fairly quick to do. You can duplicate the original pad several times, just rinse and repeat the above.

Good point. I'm still learning, as I'm pretty new to Maschine ... the possibilities are endless, but finding the right ways is the tricky part. Just going to tutorials does not help as long as you do not have your own ideas. Just trying to slice the imperial march by having each sound on a pad. The duplicate tap became my friend! Thanks!

This... I understand how you feel! Been using Maschine since it's release and I am still trying to figure out the right ways to do things!

Sometimes I wish for a simpler device that could only do things one way, that way you adapt your techniques around it, not the other way around.

Helped me out ... for now ... :) I'm quite sure I'll struggle more during the next days...
