small suggestion

How about when you move the cursor over a control, if a midi CC is assigned, it shows up in the hints bubble? This would save me SO much time labelling every control! Can't see that it'd be that hard to implement either...

but MAKE THEM CHANGE THE BLOODY AUTOMATIC PANEL LAYOUT RIGHT NOW. It wouldn't be that difficult to make sure when a control was added it didn't overlap with any others, and wasn't miles away either.

That's certainly one of my most hated bugs... I'm sure they are aware of it. ;-) Hopefully it will be addressed sooner rather than later.

And some kind of scripting, or failing that, some kind of cunning matrix gui object... would make life easier. One day...

 

Surely a panel "snap to grid" would be sensible. If each control had coordinates and you could simply type in new ones...

Actually, another thing struck me when I was doing some particuarly hectic wiring earlier on. How about a "replace module" feature. This would come in handy when you've wired up a module to 20 others and suddenly realised you should have used a different one! You could replace it with another and the rewiring would be done for you (as much of it as possible anyway, seeing as there will be either more or less outputs and inputs). Did that make any sense? It's too early in the morning!

being able to select several outputs of a macro and wire the connections of the selected outputs to the next macro at once! (for example six with simply one drag) would be nice too.

Harder to make it consistent and reliable, perhaps.

The matrix thing, though. Just maybe this could almost be done (inefficiently and badly) with event tables, and careful use of signal routing...... Hmmmm..... automatable too....

Time for a tinker. At worst, I see glitch on yonder horizon. At best, a feast of feedback and modulation routing...

How about 'create input / output / send / receive' on the node context menus?

 

It can only be a matter of time before people start filing lawsuits blaming NI for their obsessive cumpulsive disorders, I'm sure ;-)

 

They currently have three pending against me.

 

I would like:

When double click instrument icon in ensemble structure - load up panel like it used to instead of properties.

Save button on instrument panel for quick re-save. (to the instruments file).

Command to turn off all remote control in instrument and de-activate any out bound midi cc's (panel to midi).

Ability to filter incoming midi messages like before.

I like the rack like ensemble panel but I think it should align based on the width of the screen, so you do like a carriage return as soon as you go over the right.

(Maybe) have a simple hardcoded mixer built into the main outputs.

Having FM and/or sync in ALL the symmetry oscillators-not just pulse.
Be able to change the font color in the properties.
