I am very glad to see the long-awaited smart playlists in Traktor, thanks to NI for listening to us.
I wanted to recommend adding the rule option as AND/OR
When in the playlist we can have two colors or two other tags.

In this case, playlists will be more functional.

In this case just add two rows of Color, set one to Red and the other to Yellow When Match all conditions is one this will be AND when its off it will be a OR.

EDIT: Of course a track can only have 1 color assigned so the AND statement would not make sense at all and would result in 0 results.

Yes, I did it right away, but it doesn't work as I intended.

I want the playlist to include tracks
- with yellow and red colors (color tag)
- and with the Mid energy level (comment tag)


If we uncheck the box, then the smartplaylist starts showing tracks with other values in the "comment" tag
That is, it works like:
Yellow (color tag) OR Red (color tag) OR Mid (comment tag)
but should work like:
Yellow (color tag) OR red (color tag) AND Mid (comment tag)

 

You have Match All Conditions ON so when you set one Row to Color Yellow and another to Color Red it will result in 0 tracks because there are no tracks with more then 1 color assigned. When you disable the Match All Conditions it will give you tracks of either with Color Yellow OR Color Red OR with Comment = Mid

And since you set the Comment to "contains" it will show you all the tracks which have "mid" in their comment text.

 

I think I get what you mean, you want to combine AND and OR statements. This is not possible yet.

 

Some nitpicks:

• After editing a smartlist, if tracks that are already in the list also match the new rules, they stay at the top of the list. There's no way to re-sort and consolidate the smartlist by title, other than by restarting Traktor. It would be nice if Traktor either recreates the smartlist from scratch after editing, or it re-sorts and consolidates the smartlist by title.
• "less/greater or equal than" is not proper English, it should be "less/greater than or equal to".
• Some fields use "is/is not" as a condition, others "equal to/not equal to". It would be nice to be consistent.

Not sure if I understand your first point, is your list not sorted? It default sorts to #. You can sort on Title it will sort to title and any adjustments you make to the list afterwards will be sorted by Title.

 

Apart from the aforementioned details, everything works fine, this is some good work guys!
If you add Track Tags/Multi Genre Labels this will be an amazing organizing feature.
And then the only very useful thing missing will be a next track suggestion list based on smartlists, playlists and history

 

You're right, this only occurs when the list is sorted by #, so it's not a big issue. I'm used to sorting playlists by hand, but it makes sense to use multiple column sorting for smartlists.

 

Now when is pressed «match all condition” for all tags work with rule “and” if it is not pressed, then the rule works for all tags “or”, but I would like to suggest that we can select for each tag “and/or” separately, this will make smart playlists more flexible

in the context in which I use the folder, I need a smart playlist that would show tracks with yellow or red colors and other tags

I don’t need for example playlist only with tracks which has yellow color

I want to say that we need a playlist in which we can save two colors, or two levels of energy, or 3 moods or 5 genres, and we should be able to combine this with each other, so I suggest to choose a rule and or separately for each tag

 

Yes I know what you mean its on our list but not for this release.

A good example is the smartview of winamp:

Here we show the songs whose genre contains Pop OR Dance OR House AND the year equals or is above 2015 AND Bpm equals or is above 120.

it is very important to do this for each tag, when I still used the rekordbox , on the pioneer forum, many DJs also asked “and/ or” for each tag, but the pioneer did not do this, so the use of smartplaylists in the recordbox is rather limited

Another thing that would be nice for date fields is Before/After including the given date, so if you want to filter by a year you can use 2020/01/01 to 2020/12/31 instead of having to use 2019/12/31 to 2021/01/01.

Or maybe there should be a separate operator for Year.

 

Is there a way to do an smart playlist with for example : TOP20 play count ?

Loving the Smart Crates, one thing i think would be more convenient, when creating smart playlist Traktor sorts them at the bottom of the playlist, which means if someone has many playlists its right at the bottom, since smart playlists are constantly updating would it not be better to have them sitting at the top of the playlist column for easy access. Having them at the top of the playlist tree seems like the better option.
