Ok, say I have an instrument(the main one), and I have another instrument(an effect) inside it, so I can access it's own snapshot collection. Is it possible to recall a state of the inserted instrument with a preset saved in the main one?

If not, can't I save a snapshot in the ensemble itself that will recall a state for all instruments? For some reason, I'm not able to do so after running through the snapshot options, and it's got me in a mess..

    Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need parenting; check my FX tutorial for a thorough discussion. Or the Manual for a quick, confusing one.

I achieved an elegant solution with the help of your tutorial, many thanks.

It's amazing how useful that tutorial still is despite it's age..Excellent work, Mr Coffin.

    Hello,

i have another snapshot question, i have two different ensambles but in these ens, i have the same instruments, so is it possible to copy the snapshots from one ensamble to the other or the instruments snapshots.

Sure, just save the bank with the snaps you want, using the bank drop-down menu, then import that bank into the other version of the instrument.

    david,

i have a question for the master:

what do you think of the reaktor snapshot programming logic? is it as convoluted and anti-intuitive as it seems to me?

    your pal,

Is there an acronym for "nearly spat out my tea as I read that"?
"Master"? You must mean "kindergarten-substitute-assistant-cloak-room monitor..."

Don't ned to be a master of anything to agree with that. NI seems to take a special delight in inventing ever-more-terrible snap-shot schemes. Just look at Absynth and Spectral Delay. I actually prefer Reaktor's to these, now that I've kinda figgered it out; I have to re-read my own tutorial ocassionally to keep it all straight. I personally try to avoid parenting, to keep things as simple as possible. But then I also tend to use R only in stand-alone mode, and to create recordings with it that are as self-sufficient as possible. So I'm by no means experienced at complex, multi-ensemble, DAW-based Reaktor projects.

Maybe they've finally come to grips with snaps in Kore; wouldn't know. But if so, I certainly hope it trickles down. Sheesh, why can't we even select multiple snaps for copy/pasting between banks? Or did I miss that...?
