Solved So fed up with native instruments that im thinking about suing

Last year i bought a Komplete Kontrol S49 (bulky yet unfunctional) and a Komplete 10 Ultimate pack with the keyboard.....3 years before, I had been using Maschine MK1 and maschine software (no problems).....after buying all these programs and keyboard, guess what...I owe them ANOTHER 100$ to use Maschines software upgrades....people...when you buy a software from Image Line, they GIVE you the updates like any respectable company would..especially to use the programs that YOU sold them...NOOOOOOW that you know im pissed, let me tell you the problems that i have been having with your software....

Did an update on my softwares through Native Access. All of the sudden Plug ins can not be loaded, and in Kontakt, no libraries are found...lost ALL of my projects too....hmm why did I work for 4 years on them!?!!?>!?!?!?......Now i got tired of trying to change file paths on my user libraries and plug ins FOR 3 SEPARATE PROGRAMS and scanning 90K files, only to find that either the problem was no resolved or things had gotten worse.

NOW i decided to completely clean my computer off and restore everything to factory WINDOWS settings. I have not touched ANY of the default file directories and all of my plug ins (aka retro machines for example) can not be loaded....this is after your slow ass downloading server (over my ETHERNET cable) has taken 4 days to intstall of the material back on to my computer. Loaded Kontakt, scanned libraries, loaded Komplete Kontrol, scanned libraries, loaded Maschine 2 (which I'm not sure why you charged me for it to use programs you sold me when i had Maschine 1 software- greedy wanks)

I am STILL getting "plug ins could not be loaded" just in my Maschine 2 software....this is false advertisement because when you sold me all of this it was supposed to be "download, plug, and play" and i have had literally nothing but headaches from your prodsucts. I can not even use all the crap (maschine and komplete kontrol) that takes up my desk space to make anything, aside from FL studio midi inputs which is garbage considering how much you charged for software.

"why dont you call support center in Cali?"...oh...because its conveniently off the hook morons.

If I dont get a response to resolve this crap soon, im going to launch a law suite or get all of my money for the software and keyboard refunded back to me in full or there will be lawful action taken. heck a mini brute kicks Kontrol S49s a$$.....

 

I assume you checked the file paths were correct in Native Access settings.
Anyway I look forward to the lawsuit. I fancy a chuckle.

Lol of course I'm not going to sue but it's the only way I felt I could get a quick response (thank you btw)...but seriously tho..I really need some help resolving this and NI isn't known for helping..I did lose my projects permanently and I can NOT load my plug ins...is there any way I can get a live chat and do a remote access with them and they can literally help me like that?

 

Like a LOVE my machine mk1...which I had gotten the smaller version of keyboard though as it's just bulkier with same functions (my bad for buying it) but man I just want to be able to get my ideas out fast and this hasn't helped me at all and I'm lile 2000$ deep so you'd think I could get some real help fox g there stuff and not constantly getting charged for "updates"

Some of the kits use Reaktor ensembles Prism and Monark. Also some kits use Massive. Did you install Reaktor and Massive? Install and update both of those. Run Reaktor and Massive stand alone before trying to open in Maschine. Also, you may want to tick the option in Maschine plugin preferences to use the latest version of NI plugins.

Gotcha. I've tried updating kontakt, komplete kontrol and mascHine but none of the latter. I will give massive and the other programs a shot in standalone. Haha apologies for the rant but I really want to make beats and it's been like 5 days of having the itch so I'm irratabe. I'm sure yall can kind of undersrand. And no I'm not suing...I just really do like your retro machines and massive and been freaking out forever

 

And I love/hate you guys- love you because its fixed and hate because it was so simple....seemed to fix issues so far...I thought kontakt, komplete and mascHine were the only 3 needed to play full library and sounds -.- this explains a lot lol

I have another hardware specific question that I'm praying I don't get hazed for. I got APC40 from a pawn shop and I'm having one hell of a time finding any mapping program for it...I wanted to work my measures in mascHine, and handsfree master in FL studio w my APC40...yall got any leads? Ive hit up akai, ableton, and image line so far on the forums (lol no I didn't rant before hand) sorry guys just losing my projects freaked me out yesterday.

 

I can't help with the APC40 but may I suggest saving your sessions to an external hard drive then backing up that external drive for redundancy. You won't lose "All your sessions" if an app crashes. I'm not sure there is really a way to lose all your sessions from Maschine crashing since you would generally be working on one session at a time. In any event good luck with your search for answers.

Yea learned the had way that I need to start "saving with samples" as well lol...for the record on the APC, they tool pretty good care of my needs for the ableton template...still have to download ableton it seems but they gave me a newer serial no doubt so I give em kudos on here too. Hey Red.

I'm guessing you are having a Windows 10 issue not an NI issue. I went through something similar. What version of Windows are you using?

Windows 10 has a common bug when you reinstall it. If you are using drives which were part of a previous install, Windows 10 will mark them and no longer grant you permission to access the folder or file which contains files needed to launch and run Maschine or Vsts etc. Its stupid but has become common since the Anniversary update.

The files are where they are supposed to be but Windows 10 will not let the program access them. The fix is to go to the folder where the files are and manually change the permissions.

I did this to my plug in folders and they launched again.

BTW sue Microsoft for all of us.

There are youtube videos on how to change permissions. I've had it happen to a drive but also to critical folders such as ProgramData which is where Ableton stores its program files, as do some VSTs.

Looks like a bunch of users that may have had an issue with their user account, and have decided to "fix it" by changing permissions willy nilly... Maybe they also disabled UAC or something. Changing file and folder permissions is something to be very careful about, not only because of security..but also it's likely to come back and bite you afterwards if you don't do it correctly.

I'd suspect if most of these people created new windows user accounts their problem would be solved.. probably too late now their permissions are probably already all over the place if people have been finding around without understanding the long term implications and/or user/system permissions hierarchys.

Another thing to do is a clean windows 10 install (wipe hard drive), and not use a Windows 7/8 as an upgrade base.

I certainly have not experienced any of these issues, not since XP days. Then again I set my group policy to defer updates.

 

Seem more to do with corrupt master boot record than permissions...probably down to a failed windows upgrade or maybe a copy of Linux grub has been installed.
