Just import or save your homebrew samples on each pad, click on group => save as => write the name of your kit
and if you want your kit to appear in the Maschine browser
Use Maschine Browser => navigate to where you saved your kit => click on your kit
=> tag it as you want

It could (should) be more streamlined but it works.

So unless i didn't understand your request, i think your problem is solved.
So, let me know if that's what you had in mind.

I like the way you explain things, how about this, how do you use maschine as a simple audio editor to edit samples, then put fx on them and then export them with fx to a folder of your choice on your computer?

No the problem is not solved because I may move them from a hard drive! And then the entire kit is messed up..I'm sick of backing up databases and that garbage,I don't care to tag..I just want to load up a group/kit of my samples and go..

I also work with other artists n travel, gig, and we have a combination of mac's and pc's,without the same samples on the hd's// what kind of sense does it make to copy a database n try and use it on another guys hd if the samples aren't there?

Up until now NI only have granted us the save projects with samples option, which works, but is entirely clunky as hell, so yeh I have to load up a project with multiple kits in it,to load up a kit,re save them, yada,yada,yada..

it's a pain in the ass, trust me I've been gigging w/maschine since it came out and it can be a bitch keeping track with samples on different cpu's..

I've been doing your method, since day 1 and the other I mentioned ,so while I can appreciate your response,it's got OLD.. If N.I. dev's don't offer a way to save kits/groups with samples, then they are just out to sell kits, and I'm not buying them.. I'll find another option..

i agree 100%. in Battery it is easy to save a kit on one computer and move that kit to another computer and it will load... believe me trusampler when i say you are no alone with this request ;)

oh yeah completely forgot about BATTERY;) thanks

And not to mention when you do lose a sample, due to re organizing, since I'm ALWAYS doing that! The search to find missing samples SUCKS.. So if the dev's would just offer us a way to save a kit/group w/samples, the kits/groups would always have their samples near... SUCH AS SOFTWARE LIKE = GURU,GEIST,BPM,Poise,Cubase GROOVE AGENT One, Studio One Impact, FL Studio fpc,AND YES BATTERY! I CAN GO ON, it's sad.. that they haven't offered this yet.. seriously.. not in the mood for this lack of end user support.

Yes battery has a nice feature called "Monolith" which Kontakt has also. It saves all samples inside the patch file. Awesome!

Maschine should have a similar functionality. It would be a much cleaner task of moving drum kits across other computers.

I suppose their issue is having their own kits exported against will, but its not a good excuse to limit our functionality. They should spend more time encrypting their kits rather than we spend more time looking for missing samples. Ya dig?

No excuse for this not to be there, something we've been asking for since day one. In a product that relies heavily on samples and custom kits, it's still mind boggling why we can't do this.

Now you just need to put this thread in the appropriate directory (feature requests) where the developers will see it, and give it an appropriate name (i.e., "Save Custom Kits?") so that the developers have an idea what you're requesting without needing to read through the thread contents.

Oh damn...I didn't realize until reading this thread that saving group wasn't actually saving any of the samples....

    Did that >>> http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154422

More separate requests should help the effort. Perhaps they'll pay attention to the quantity of such threads.
