soft takeover seems to work one way and not the other ie.

i move the knob on the screen, soft takeover works, but if i move the knob on my mixer while not in midi mode and then turn midi mode on...snaps to the new knob position.

Its the same in version 201 203 and 212
i also tested it on my X1 with the same results

Is this normal behavior? or a bug? either way it should be fixed.

BUG: After EIGHT Years, Please Fix Soft-Takeover Already

My thread from last year was closed inexplicably.

I don't undertand how it makes sense to talk of soft takeover in this scenario.
The knob on the screen is always representing the current state so there is no taking over to do.

    Yes a long enduring bug.
Even if your mixer is "in MIDI mode" permanently,
this bug manifests when you start your set and touch dials for the first time.

And it probably happens every time if you try to use an XY pad.

Actually the bug was first mentioned in this forum eight years ago (and another thread in German).

And again a post from 2007 asked about this also. A moderator closed that thread too.

Seems to be the most basic, essential functionality so I would have thought NI would give it priority rather than shutting down discussion each time (not that moderators=NI). Am I getting paranoid?

    Hi there,

    +1 by my side!
This also applies when fader is configurated in 'Relative' mode.

Traktor should not interpret MIDI message of a controler's fader mapped as 'Relative' or 'TakeOver' as an initialization message when its position has changed drastically from previous position detected by Traktor.

I could understand that it will leads to not get the fader initialized on Traktok side at same position it has on MIDI controler when powering on the MIDI controler (even if the 'power on' step could be detected with an additional piece of code).

Please please please... stop trashing gigs!
