    Hi all,

I've been using Traktor Pro for roughly 6 months now and absolutely love it. I've recently been inspired by Joris Voorn's incredible Balance release and am wanting to put together a pre-recorded mix. I just feel that doing something like this live will mean too many "takes" and I'd really like to be able to arrange this carefully.

Any ideas on what sort of software would be the best to use? I've taken a look at Bias's Peak, which I was advised by a friend could do this but I didn't really like the UI one bit and it crashed about 3 times on my Mac doing fairly basic stuff.

I think Ableton should be able to do this, but it seems a bit like overkill.

I really just need 4 tracks, FX, loops and pitch sliders - basically I need Traktor but not a "live" version of it!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Cheers
    Mike

Unfortunately for you,the 2 best audio montage applications do not exist on Macs... (Wavelab and Soundforge)...

You can have a look at Ardour which is free and quite powerful.. or Apple's Soundtrack..; and otherwise, Live can d o the Job as well (and Logic too) :)

Perhaps Logic Express can fit the bill without being too hard on the ol' wallet?

Mixmiester (Mac and PC) is easy to use and creates mixes in seconds.
You can tweak the mix and get it just right.

Mixmiester Fusion has loop features and FX (i think) i bought it and never used it.

It isnt cheap but i think there is a lite version of it.

Ableton live might be good investment if you intend doing a lot of this kind of thing. Its also useful for griding songs with fluctuating beat points.

Have you looked at the new 'lite' version of Live (Intro)?

I'm busy playing in Live right now actually. The one thing I can't figure out is how to adjust EQ in a recorded way. I can add an EQ effect and then adjust it per track while it's playing, but can't figure out how I can adjust it in the arrangement.
