    Dear Native Instruments Forum

I have a question about the creation of full music-tracks for commercial music libraries using N.I Komplete

I found the following text on the NI website about this:

"It is only strictly prohibited to use single, combined or modified sounds from Native Instruments to create sample CDs, loop libraries, sound libraries or similar products, as the license granted is strictly limited to one person only - any trading, lending, renting, reissuing, re-distribution or re-sale of sounds is not permitted under any circumstances."

    https://support.native-instruments....ments-Sounds-for-Commercial-Music-Production-

    The questions I have are:

*Does the above apply to full-music-tracks made for music libraries? (not sound loops or small sound samples)

*Also, is there any difference between synth plugins and samples instruments in terms of weather they can be used for the above? How about when you load your own sounds in to Kontact and then make a track with those sounds -can that be used for library music creation?

It would be great to get some clarity on this!

    Many thanks

    Robert

I am not sure, but most probably it is all about how much value one adds to the works of NI (or anyone else). And also the context. Using one sound might be tolerated if it is in context of thousands of sounds created by author.

I guess, if you také certain sounds and create a melody loop using your invention and creativity, it should be OK. If one takes one, two sounds use a simple effect and does it for thousands of samples, there is not creativity, but bulk force. And it is not probably OK.

But better to ask NI, where the fine line is. I guess, the intention of creator (I want to create some great new tunes/I want to rob NI library) and presence or absence of author's creativity play role. If one spends fraction of second to make one loop or one spends several hours/days to make one loop is what makes difference for NI. IMHO (I infer it based on intelektuál property act, not NI's terms...)
