    Hello,

After dealing with an annoying Audio 8 DJ soundcard issue that NI is deciding NOT to fix, I have taken matters into my own hands and found a solution that I am now providing to the community.

Problem: If the Audio 8 sound card (I suspect the entire line of sound cards) is connected to the PC and you put your computer into suspend/sleep/hibernate mode, when you attempt to wake up the machine your computer will lock up and you will get a nice BLACK screen. The only way out of it is to completely power off your machine and lose everything you were working on.

Old solution: ALWAYS remember to unplug the soundcard. But you are human and will invariably forget and start cursing @#$%@$.

My solution: I have created a small program that sits in your tool tray and if your computer attempts to go into hibernate or standby it will stop it from doing so and display a nice message asking you to unplug your audio 8 first. It will SAVE you from yourself and the eventual cursing that will ensue.

Is anyone interested in it? If there is enough interest I will spruce it up a bit and possibly even make it open source so that others can contribute.

Moderators: There are other forum posts relating to this issue that are now closed. Can you link those issues to this one since it is the only one offering a real solution?

Can you point out these Closed Threads. Im not sure which ones you mean and if they are closed it usually means they are resolved.

If anyone has this issue from now they will see this thread.

Well now the threads are linked here for reference they dont need opening.

Its much better for new, more relevant threads to start than to open up dead threads. Its just good netiquette.

If anyone needs your info they will see it here.

So THIS is what's causing this problem? I have reinstalled my OS so many times and thought it was everything other than my soundcard.

This needs to be fixed ASAP please.

I have to say as I am having another problem with this soundcard I am not liking my purchase one bit.

Well, the manual does indicate that power management features should not be used.

This shouldn't stop you from using Traktor.

    Here it is.

Let me know if you run into any problems or have suggestions!

When your run the program it will appear in your tool tray. The icon should change color when your Audio8 is plugged in or unplugged.

In order to do this automatically, it might be good to put a shortcut in your "Startup" folder in the windows start menu (so that it starts automagically when windows starts). Alternatively you could create a batch file that you run instead of the Traktor shortcut that starts both Traktor and this program.
