    Solved

After trying everything else I could think of or that was suggested by others, I finally just installed the Maschine 2.02 update and it solved the "could not load 1 or more plug-ins" update! However, I'm not sure if it was the update itself or this:

When I first went to run the update I got a really long error message which said something to the effect of "Installation folder not found! Please install from the original installation media first... please start the latest version of Service Center, go to the "Overview" tab, click "Show Details" for the application you want to update, and browse to the current installation folder by pressing the Locate button..."

After I went to Service Center and clicked Locate and browsed to the Maschine 2.0 folder, the install worked. And now, in version 2.02 I finally have all my plugins.

When I had previously installed the original version of Maschine, the installer had screwed up the path to the Maschine 2.0, making non-functioning shortcuts, etc (see my previous attachments in this thread.) So it could be that this was part of them problem, I don't know...

Anyway it works now! (Except it still can't load Reaktor, but hopefully I can figure that out soon)

Yes, if you move files after installing then the browser integration will not work. You have to leave all files in original location. If you feel the installer placed it incorrectly then you have to run the installer again and point to the right paths instead of manually placing things.

The original installer *did* put the files in the wrong place. I didn't move them after the install. I ran the original (2.0) installer twice and both times it completely ignored my request to place the application in the C:\Program Files directory. Instead it put the application in C:\Program Files (x86). The Windows shortcuts it created did not work. The path to the documentation was wrong. And the plugins didn't work. I only changed the Windows shortcut in order to get the application to launch.

I have conveniently captured this for you in a series of beautiful screenshots attached with my previous post. But please don't imply it was just 'user error.'

Anyway, it's all good now since things seem to be working in version 2.02.

Sorry I missed your attachment explaining. Weird that it did not install were you told it to. Wonder if it's some kind of folder permission bug with the installer.

When I first installed Maschine 2, I had the "could not load bla bla bla" problem, but solved it by adding the VST directory on my Mac in preferences.

So today, as I felt that all the menus got really loooong because Maschine lists both AU and VST, I decided to remove the above mentioned path. My goal was to only see the AU versions of my plugs. Big mistake…

Now, I'm having the same old error message pop up whenever I try to load an instrument from the browser. I tried to do what I did last, to point maschine to the VST directory again, but to no avail. It doesn't work. I've re-scanned both the plugins-folder and the library folders, but it didn't work.

Take Massive for example: it sits in my VST-folder, but Maschine doesn't pick it up when scanning the folder. Same goes for other NI plugs.

The AU versions are found, but that prevents me from loading sounds directly from the browser.

    Mac OS X10.8.5, Maschine 2.02.

Problem solved: switched Maschine 2 from 32-bit to 64-bit operation.

    A bit odd though..

    Hi,

    Same issue here.

I discovered that I moved my VST´s into categorised sub-folders (Synth, Drums, Sampler ...). After moving them back into the "global" VST folder it works for me ...

I tried to point Maschine to my own created sub-folders with no luck !

There must be something in a reference file, where Maschine is referring to ...

    Best,

    Christian.

You can't move files from the install path. Maschine depends on the VST being in the installed location for the browser integration. The NI plug-ins need to be in teh root directory that Maschine is scanning.

Hmm ... I work with Ableton Live and there is no problem with it, moving .vst files to sub-folders. What I don´t understand is, even if I point Maschine 2 to the new location in it´s preferences it does not work ...

This is simply a new path ?!

It still will work via normal module selection. It has to do with the special NI content integration with the browser. It's linked to the install path in some way.

    That´s what I guess as well ... buuuuuaaat ... Preferences -> PlugIns ->Locations ! ... I can point to different locations
on my harddisc, scanning for Vst´s. Maschine is doing some operation and scans what it finds there ... with no result !

It does not find scanned plugins via hardware selection ! Selection via software works fine ...

    This is odd ...

SOLVED ! I phoned to NI today. Like b-righteous mentioned, it´s not allowed to move VST´s to a different location than the root VST folder (it has to do with MAC OS not NI). A bit odd, cause I can define plugin locations in Maschine´s preferences, but when I move them back, everything works like expected. I wish they could implement that feature, cause in Ableton Live 9 it´s fine that way. I have my plugins categorized to their function (EQ, Dynamics, ...) and it makes it easier for me not getting lost in options ... anyway ...

Second Problem / Solution: the icon placed on my desktop by default was for Maschine 2/32 bit; i never run anything in 32 bit anymore, and I don't install the 32-bit version of plugins when I can avoid it. So I made sure I'm loading only the 64 bit version. That doubtless fixed some problems I had not yet encountered, but did not address the "could not load..." problem.

Same here, on 64bit w-7, it installed 32 bit to desktop even after choosing 32/ 64 bit path, did not figure out I was running 32 bit for 3 days after none of the plugins would load.i had to go into program files to find missing 64 bit and send to desktop... Took many days of toiling ..

Had the same message could not load one or more plugins.

This is a terrible option, and should be able to rescan correctly, hopefully this gets passed on to the developers for a fix.

    Hi Everyone,
I had the same "couldn't load 1 or more plugin" problem with all my plugs (NI and non-NI )...I've fixed the problem only by right-clicking on the plugin folder, editing all folder permission to "Read and Write" and applying it to all sub-folder. Works Perfect now.
Hope this help'd....that **** has driven me crazy for a while.

The whole key to making this work is to go to service center and let it assess and update all files that needs updated e.g. massive kontact or battery, then once this is done rescan or there is a way on YouTube you can get your Maschine 2 software to do a database reinitialization as if you were installing program for the first time. If you do not have a legitimate copy of something like komplete 9 you will have to have all the updated instruments that you only get from the service center update process or finding the correct crack online which is like a needle in the haystack, (Easier to buy). This workaround I just explained definitely works does not have anything to do with what system you are on, the bottom line is to update necessary files that Maschine recommends through service center

I just fixed the "could not load..." error by copying the applicable .VST plugins from my library/audio/plug-ins/vst folder to my user vst plugin folder
