    Hi,

I just had a hard time to get B4II installed and activated on a fresh OSX 10.7.4 system.
My problem was, that I couldn't get B4II activated with Service Center (SC) v2.2.5 or later.
With the latest version of the SC, I always got a message like "internal error during activation process (5)".

Here is how it finally worked for me. May be this helps with other older/unsupported NI products, too.
This solution assumes you don't have previously installed the Service Center.

    1. Log in to the NI website and download the B4 II 2.0.4 installer
    2. Install B4 II, but when the installer ask to install the Service Center, cancel that step.
    3. Download the free Service Center v2.2.1 (!) from
    http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=freeupdates#NI_Service_Center
    4. Turn your computer offline. This is important so the SC can't auto-self-update at startup.
    5. Install the downloaded SC
    6. Start the SC and choose the "offline mode"
    7. In the SC, create an ActivationRequestFile and save it to your hard disk
    8. Leave the SC open (!) and turn your computer online again
    9. Open the Activation Request File (.html) with your browser and follow the instructions, save the provided ActivationReturnFile.
    10. turn your computer offline again.
    11. Open the ActivationReturnFile in the SC (step 3 off the offline activation process)

The product should now be activated correctly.

You can now close the SC and go online again.
During the next start of SC, it will self-update to the latest version (which may be required by newer NI products). This does not affect your B4II activation.

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards
    Johannes

For Windows User if you have already registered the B4-II earlier:

Use the old Service Center on the install disk and cancel if it wants to update.
Once online it will say that you have the wrong key. Ignore all that and press "Next" on every step. Close the Service Center and it should work :D

    Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to the same problem.
    I'm running Windows 8 64 bit.
When I install and run an older version of Service Center the menu option to create an ActivationRequestFile is grey. In other words, I can't execute it.
Is there a way to get B4II and Pro-53 activated in Windows 8.
NI support tells me there are older products that don't work in Windows 8.

Thanks in advance for any info!

    Regards, Berno.

I'm using the service center from the install CD (15.10.2007) and I can't see any ActivationRequestFile menu option - only online activation - which I'am using also for my newer products.

I got in touch with support by email and the great people of NI supplied me with:
    NI B4II 64-bit Registry Fix 1.0.exe and
    PRO53_regfix.reg

I got my B4II and Pro-53 running again on Windows 8!

    HI joh760
I have a question: I installed the soft B4 II Nativeinstrument in Windows 10 in Stand Alone mode and it does not work, the program starts but not displayed. Someone has this happened? I have used this soft?

    • Maybe try running B4 II in Compatibility mode (Mouse-right-click on the application (shortcut) -> Properties -> Compatibility tab)
    • Or try launching it via Mouse-Right-Click -> Run as Adminstrator.
Otherwise contact NI support about this: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/company/contact-ni/
