    HEY Y'ALL!

So I recently bought a Mikro 3 and my main DAW is Pro Tools running on an iMac with Catalina 10.15. I ran into the problem where both my maschine 2 program was not a valid 64 bit AAX plugin as well as my Mikro freezing up during the boot up of Pro Tools. In case anyone else are having these issues, I am proud to say that after 3 straight days of looking I found what we have to do to make everything work!

    MASCHINE 2 FIX

NI said to reinstall the program which is correct, you should. Only when I reinstalled it from NI Access I was going through the same issue. So What I did was when it was reinstalling, you should see the file in the downloads folder. Pull it out of that folder onto the desktop and copy and paste it so you have 2 copies on the desktop (1 of which will dissapear after NI Access has reinstalled that version) Now you have the Download file on your desktop, right-click the icon and choose "Open with" whatever your default installer is. Then it will pop up like a normal download and make sure that the AAX plugin box is checked! After that download has completed, open up the standalone version of Maschine 2 to complete the registering process of your Maschine hardware and then Pro Tools should read it just fine!

    Maschine Mikro MK 3 FIX

This was the ultimate thank goodness moment when it finally worked! OK, so when loading up Pro Tools you may find that your Maschine hardware just crashes and freezes on whatever mode it's in (Off, Plug-in mode, or MIDI Mode) Whatever the case, here is the fix! From what I read around there is suppose to be a virtual input for these products. Maschine Mikro 3 does not have one from what I have been able to see. That is OK though. What you want to do in order for the Mikro 3 to work as a MIDI Controller is actually SUPER SIMPLE!

BEFORE you launch Pro Tools, open up your finder and go to the following path: (Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-ins/) Then if you don't already have it sorted this way, sort it by NAME. Now look for the plug-in titled "FB360-Control-ambiX.aax" Take this Plug-in and move it over to the "Plug-ins (Unused)" folder and BOOMMMM You will have a fully working Mikro 3 MIDI Controller! Now go into Controller Editor and create your map however you want!

Hope this helps out a bit for anyone who is struggling like I was. If there are still some questions or need more clarification, please just leave a message on the thread! Now go create some bangers!!!

For real? This just worked for Maschine MK3. I was banging my head on the wall trying to figure out why PT stopped cooperating with Maschine. Killing NiHostIntegrationAgent and restarting it made it seem like Maschine would work (it allowed Shift/Control to start midi controller mode) but midi still wasn't happening.

    THANK YOU, you wise 13ish!

Wow. THANK YOU! I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why my Maschine MK3 kept freezing up when I started Pro Tools.
Any idea why the hell this happens? How did you find the solution 13ish? Genius.
