Windows XP SP3, Kontakt 4.1.3. I start it up (standalone) and almost immediately, before I can do anything, I get a dialog box saying "Kontakt 4 has encountered a major problem and has been terminated."

I do not think I have changed anything since the last time I tried using it.

I have sent crash dumps to Native Instruments, but while I wait, I wonder if there is anything I can try that will help me find out what caused the problem.

Weird. I noticed that just before crashing, Kontakt displayed its list of available sound libraries, and Abbey Road '60s Drums was missing its background image. So I tried reinstalling just that library and the problem went away.

Yet I am quite certain I didn't do anything to touch that library.

    Andrew,

Thanks for this post. I had the same trouble but didn't relate the crash to Abbey Road (looked everywhere else). The only change looking back is installing the update which took everything down. Reinstalled Abbey and Kontakt is up and running again.

Support should look at the update installer for Abbey.

    Best,
    Shiva

Yes, thanks a lot for posting this, Andrew.

Had the same problem after the Abbey Road content update and I could't even open the WIN 7 control panel to go back to a restore point, because windows explorer crashed immediately after opening the control panel. After the re-install of Abbey Road 60s from the original Komplete 7 CD everything is working fine again.
