    hi,

how to set the "frequency of the modulator"? i would like to set the frequency between 1-20 Hz etc.
i see only "frequency ratio" (wchich is set in octaves?) and "frequency offset" (Hz) settings in the FM8... i'm confused.

should i set some relation between them (ratio and offset) to get the 20 Hz frequency of the modulator?

    thnx in advance

If you're looking for an operator that stays at a set frequency no matter what key you play, set the "ratio" to zero and the use the "frequency offset" to set the frequency.

The ratio is a multiplier, not an octave setting, and it corresponds to the frequency of the note you play. So if you set an operator to a ratio of 2.000 and play middle C the operator produces a frequency twice that of middle C, or an octave up. If you set it to 3.000 the frequency of the operator is three times that of the note played, or an octave plus a fifth.

The frequency offset, on the other hand, is constant no matter what note you play.
