I have some ideas for stems. I'm certainly not a marketing professional or CEO, and I don't know what the NI team did to promote stems. So just a few of my thoughts on this

As we can see,the stems format has not become popular, so I was thinking about how to popularize it
    1. This is to collaborate with famous DJs who write their own high-quality music, DJs who have a large fan base in social networks, sign contracts for artists to release their top 10 tracks in the format of stems and popularize them through blogs and streams. Most likely, pop artists will be less willing to agree to this, but underground DJs and labels such as the community Resident Advisor may be more willing to cooperate in this direction.
2 Establish contact with major labels and release only those tracks that are popular, for example, Beatport, Spotify, Apple music have music ratings, and they can monthly, based on these ratings, release the most popular tracks, for a start - it can work. Or pay extra to labels for stems for the top 10 tracks from each label or store
    3. Include in sequencers, Maschine 2.0, Ableton, FL Studio, Cubase, Logic,
    4. Stems on request. To offer the Beatport, the voting function with the presale for the stems. if there are a lot of requests for a track, the label can release it as a stem. It's a bit like vinyl when a track is released on vinyl, because it becomes a classic, you can also do it with stems.
    5. Arrange with labels and artists and release Top 100 hits over the past 30 years In every genre

I think - this makes sense, because if DJs are interested in this topic, they will buy more traktor controllers, it is possible to make a paid license to use the stems technology in other DJ programs and controllers.

In any case, I think we will have to interest people and companies in money

Thanks for contributing this, but IMO all points have far too many dependencies in third parties etc

Far simpler is the VDJ and Djay features announced today.
You just load your MP3s and you are done.

Yes, good technology, I also saw, the quality is certainly not Studio, but still better than the usual equalizer, I think this will be a popular way of mixing, I want to try it myself, but still I think NI should not throw the format of stems, it has even a little more depth than netrual mix, but NI should to invest in the popularisation

We can have a few similar these formats
netrual technology it is as mp3
Stems it is as flac or aiff :)
    why not

My guess would be that they took the work done on deezer & spleeter, and ran with it...

    @dj_estrela

You're a fairly programmy kind of guy... are you seeing any corelation / traces if this is their own development, or just a repackaged spleeter approach/tech...?

    Churs.

It would be very wise for everyone - namely Traktor - to just jumpstart with Spleeter.
Its far quicker than developing your own technology

The MIT license choose by Spleeter its very permissive and has very few conditions:
    https://choosealicense.com/licenses/

Example where you just need to attribute things:
    "Third Party Software Acknowledgements"
    https://www.denondj.com/product-legal-sc5000-prime

Compare to the GPL, which you have to make your own code that extends it GPL as well:
    https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/open-source-code-distribution/gpl-lgpl-source-code/

Regarding VDJ and DJay, I did not found possible attributions in their website or manuals.
