Some important suggestions for the TKS4 MK3

As a former user of an S8, I decided to switch to the more recent S4 MK3. I just bought it this afternoon and I found some important things that are not possible yet, which is not so nice (even if I'm very satisfied with the controller):

- the external playing source cuts when shutting down Traktor or when plugging the USB cable into the computer (do I have to warn NI about it?)
- we cannot loop-record a deck or main audio to a remix deck slot from KS4 MK3 (I know you want to be able to do that!)
- we cannot assign different Mixer FX per deck (maybe it is a hardware limitation, but it's a shame)
- we cannot browse tracks from Kontrol screens, which is painful
- we cannot send MIDI clock over USB hub, so I can't sync my MPC

Voilà, these are the most important features I would like to enjoy from the S4 MK3.

EDIT : we can assign a specific mixer FX per channel (pp. 65-66 of the manual)

 

Some good suggestions there creal. Let me add the two EXT channels are still too low even after the firmware update.
Using a mic the trim and the channel are maxed out, same with an external source that doesn't have it's own volume control.

 

If you hold FX Select and then press the channel button the chosen Filter FX will only be assigned to that channel.

You're right. I just tested the D mic channel and my gain has to be at 3PM (with volume channel at the maximum) to reach the orange LEDs. With an external source like a smartphone it is sufficient though (because we can max the volume from the source, as you suggest). I didn't aware that a firmware had to do with Mic input levels. I did know for the headphone output (which is great now) but not for the Mic. If the devs could do something for us, it will be helpful.

 

Another one....Stand alone mixer is not so stand alone while playing and traktor goes off by accident or by malfunction. The mixer doesn't keep working if you shut off traktor. If you start without traktor the mixer is stand alone but once started (traktor) stand alone stops there.
