    Hi everybody,

The post with the update pricing is not gone, it is just no longer a sticky. You can find it here:

    http://www.nativeinstruments.de/forum_de/showthread.php?t=48097

Everything in there is still valid except for the timeframe for the discounted Kore 2 software update, which has of course been moved together with the release date.

I also fixed the link in the first post of this thread, no idea why this was broken.

    Regards, Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

How about an official answer as to the rumors that Holger Zwar from Sonicbytes (Phrazor/ERA2/EST) is now working on KORE 2 (or at NI) ?

    Thanks,

    C

I have to admit you have peaked my interest in this situation. I spent a lot of this weekend reading up on Phrazor and was debating on whether or not to grab a copy. But I missed out cause I wasn't sure that I wanted to deal with 'unsupported' software. If it's true that Holger Zwar has indeed moved to NI, then I am very excited for the software version of Kore 2. It's obvious that this collaboration would be extremely beneficial to all Kore users.

    My fingers are crossed.

Yes, Holger is now part of the NI development team, and working on Kore. You will already see some contributions from him in Kore 2.

    Regards, Thomas

...I have heard that a record window like in Reaktor or Absynth would be planned for a later update of Kore 2 - will this be working with the new drag & drop capabilities of Kontakt 3 and will it be possible to have such a window in the vst-version, too?

Excuse me if this is not appropriate for this thread as i'm very new to Kore however, will the Kore 2 software take advantage of the Mac Pro Quad core CPU? I've installed the latest version and particular patches are hogging 1 cpu, with several left causing overload and of course the usual artifacts that come with that(in logic pro 8). Cheers.

    Aj.

As far as I know Kore2 as standalone won't support multicores because of latency reasons. (>10ms)

Better a few weeks later if it means we'll get a more solid program.

I think they've had plenty of time to get 'a more solid program'. Of course, we could always say "It'll be better in a few weeks" but when do they stop? They've had all the time we were beta (or alpha) testing Kore 1 and they've had all the time since the initial announcement of Kore 2 (remember we were promised the software upgrade some months ago).

They haven't even had the decency to give us an update about when might even begin to expect Kore 2. I'm beginning to feel that NI are utterly contemptuous of their customers.

I'll tell you, as a computer programmer one of the things I absolutely hated more than anything was being told that I had a deadline simply because the marketing department gave a date to the public. Usually they gave the dates from early estimates that were completely unstable, or they would advertise release dates that were way too optimistic because they figured the programmers could just work nights and weekends... "hey, we don't have to pay them overtime!"

So for a company to keep their lips tight on a release date I think is a good thing as it will help keep the programmers from quitting their jobs, and it keeps bleary-eyed code out of the products.

Sure. I hated that too. But I regarded it as part of the job. I knew there were people relying on what I came up with. I also knew that, left entirely to my own devices and my own deadlines, there was always a (small but noticable) chance that a degree of 'Starbucks appreciation' would drift into the equation. And there were times (often during 'office hours') that an intense study of the music of Kraftwerk or The Enid was far higher up the list of 'immediate priorities' than any new addition to any part of the rear-end of a half-finished piece of code. As it was, a healthy compromise was reached; the job got done faster than I would have liked but slower than they would have wanted.

I'm sure that EVERYONE would love to do their job in their own sweet time but there comes a moment when the public who are waiting for that job to be completed start to lose interest. ESPECIALLY when there is absolutely no communication about progress (if any). I feel that I, as a more than interested customer, am being treated with utter contempt by NI - especially when they gave a rough release date then dumped it. In all honesty, I feel that I'm still waiting for a product that I paid for (and expected to be able to use) a couple of years ago. The odd snippet of news would NOT go amiss.
