    Hi there,
some factory presets of ABS4 produce this result. As if there's something erratic in the patch but I can't see anything that is odd.
An example is the patch name "Sonorous Pads".

    Thanks for enlightening me
    Jurgen

    i do experience this, too.
    but only within cubase sx3.
    not in standalone mode.
i experience this normally during tweaking parameters with the mouse.
for example in cubase tweaking control parametter cc32 of the patch "New Day" i get this.
i have then to click the panic button to get any audio again.

i have reported this to brian directly.

    ok,
i used absynth more today and recognized that within the resonator effect section this bug very very often occours.
    but not only there.
and only in cubase, not in standalone mode.

YES IT IS A BUG IN THE RESONATORS!

Blaugruen, I found out the same thing and I can now produce it any time. However it only affects the Mac version (Mac Probook with Core 2 Duo), Absynth for PC works okay and I can't cause this bug to occur.

    1) just add 3 resonators to any preset
    2) fiddle with the master settings (topmost row)
    3) after less than a minute Absynth will switch off the audio engine with a loud "clack"
    4) switching off the mid resonator fixes this but it is impossible in this preset to use the mid resonator any longer
    5) continue to fiddle with the master parameters
    6) Absynth again switches off the audio engine with a loud clack - this time it is the upper resonator whch is gone

Where should I report this kind of thing? Or does some smart guy read the posts??

I've had exactly the same issues within Logic. By changing the effect from resonator to anything else the issue disappears. I have also found a similar bug within certain Kontact patches.

i have to add that within 24hours brian responded that others had reported this bug, that it is not so easy to reproduce because it is only on some systems and that it is worked on.
    thank you.

the manual says resonators can produce a clacking sound, when one of the output positions crosses the input point. check the resonator section of the manual (fx). maybe it's that?

    its not a clacking sound.
it is a sudden peak and then no sound at all.
and nothing helps after this. only clicking the panic button.

I'm getting this exact problem while testing many of the presets. I'm on a G5 dual core 2 GHz using Logic Pro 7.

I own Absynth 3 and Battery 2. I plan to go no further with Native Instruments until they can supply plugins that have no major bugs. Absynth 3 gets stuck notes on both Mac and PC. I haven't noticed this while testing 4 yet but one problem solved another appears so I never use Absynth despite it's great sounds. I have yet to test a single version of an NI product which does not display bugs yet every other plugin I use works perfectly with no bugs or at least any which show up as a major problem.

If Native Instruments would simply fix their software instead of adding new features and new bugs to every release.

OK fair enough I've tested further and this Absynth is the best yet. At last this version seems relatively problem free. I haven't encountered any other problems. I will probably upgrade. Is this bug being dealt with?

OK this is good news. Things are looking up. I must admit after numerous problems with NI plugins, this Absynth seems very good. The best NI plugin I have worked with yet so my negative comments may be unfounded. The new browser is very useful.
